Obama Indonesian?!

Re: Obama Indonesian?!

Well he is a 1st generation American, raised by white folks, and grew up in Hawaii I think? So really, he's pretty much alot more things than just a black man for sure.
I guess theres still that birth certificate or whatever...its that even resolved yet? I guess it wouldn't matter much anyways...but I always thought him a Kenyan fella. Which I don't called 'real" American black people African American, casue they ain't no more African than I am Czech, Russain, British/etc, its all Americans. But in Bama's case I guess he could called himself an African-American.

A lot of people like to try and separate Obama from the African American community but let's face it. He wouldn't have been allowed to drink from white water fountains nor visit any of the white-only establishment that the other black people couldn't visit.

Yeah..when you look at it from a white person point of view. Now get him together with 100 average black people...are they the same? Forget skin color for a sec...does he feel the same way most black people feel? Does he know what they know?
I have a cousin whose oldest child is a "mixed" I guess is the correct word. But otherwise black yes. He's raised in a very white, wealthy area, has white friends, and a white girlfriend....according to what I hear, he's an outcast and a disgrace to alot of "real" black people, becasue of what they say to him and how they act towards him. And lives in Illinois of all places. But he still black yes?

Now you honestly think when THE LIGHT fades, they will stand shoulder to shoulder with Obama,...I doubt it.
Give it time, the "well he's not 100% black anyways" comments will soon arrive. Actually according to where some of my family works, they've alrdy heard this. But were in the south, might be different?

But he did say he was his brothers keeper so...what do I know right. I do know his brother seems pretty broke imo. Sad.

They're not animals.

Re: Obama Indonesian?!

The very definition of "animal" is that it's not human. Where do all these *** holes come from who keep saying that humans are animals too? If humans where in the category "animals" then the term "animal" would be redundant.

That's just a matter of definition. The scientific term is used to seperate certain species from plants and other lifeforms while the etymologic term excludes humans as well.

Ever play 20 Questions?
Animal, Vegetable or Mineral?

It true for both Scientific and Most Common usages.

If you search for "People are not animals" all your going to find is the people that don't believe in evolution, and PETA.

How is a subset being included in a superset redundant?

Humans are Primates, Primates are Animals, People are Animals.

In common use, animal is a distinguisher from human.

Obama doesn't look Indonesian at all. Although that lookalike is a pretty good likeness.

Wow - you're right - all Black people DO look the same...

Forget skin color for a sec...does he feel the same way most black people feel?
I've not gotten close enough to him to comment on the texture of his skin,

Does he know what they know?
Is there some kind of Black secret that they communicate telepathically?

I have a cousin whose oldest child is a "mixed" I guess is the correct word. But otherwise black yes.
Don't a huge portion of Black people in the US have at least some White ancestors?

Re: Obama Indonesian?!

Either way, the whole racial thing is bull****. All white Americans are a mixture of Europeans, like the French, Dutch, German, etc. etc.

Same goes for Afro-Americans, just because they're 'black' doesn't mean they fit into one group. You can't just go and claim that people who's ancestors are originally from Rwanda are similar to those who are originally from ... Ethiopia.

Quite useless to separate ones from the others.

I'll help you out.

1. Never said anything about "looks'.
2. His skin is smooth texture, with soft small hands.
3. Every black friend I've ever had knows what white hatred feels like, doesn't mean all us whites hate them, but blacks now what it feels like at some point in their lives..doubt Obama does. Does Obama know what his grandparents went thru..oh wait, they live in some other country...or maybe those white folks that raised him were his grandparents...yea they had it tuff I bet.
Does he get upset when hes called the "the N word"...or better yet "boy"...where I'm from walk up to any black person and say that...and get rdy to fight. Think Obama would lose it, does he seem to fit that bill? Oh let me guess...hes educated?
Obama knows nothing of what I call "real" black people know. It will have been a real historic day when a true American black man/woman becomes president.
So to put it easy for you....list a average black man/woman life, in one or few word statements.....
I'll list Obama's, Harvard/Kenyan/mixed/Hawaii/raised by white people/Muslim/1st generation American

Now all of those issues can be discussed, but does it label a black American in anyway form or fashion? None I've ever met or ever even known.
4. I doubt it. Otherwise they would be called British//Russian/Irish Americans, rather than African American right?

Apologies, I read a bit quickly and mixed when you said 'looks' earlier in the sentence. My mistake.

Yeah - I bet every racist he met through his life went to the effort of establishing what his ancestry then decided not to be racist towards him as a result that being called the N-Word doesn't bother him at all.

I might be reading this wrong or something, its kinda confusing for some reason...but anyways to I think your post.

Being called the "N" word would bother anyone of dark skin, who knew pretty much its meaning. Now if a real African came from Africa, and you called him this, he would prolly just look at you with confusion, whereas Obama of course knows its meant to hurt, whereas alot of blacks I know get pissed. But the older generation, like my grandparnets age, actually don't do anything when called the "N" word, from what I've noticed.
My grandmother for instance...she's 75 years old and still says thing like "yea my ****** came and mowed my yard today", and "ohh I just love my ****** boy, he is so helpful". And the guy standing right there! And hes about the same age.
I told her she shouldnt say that, but she doesn't even know its hurtful, and the guy just smiles and says thankyou. I told her if she tell his son/grandson that word, get rdy to be cussed out lol.

But yea of course Obama wouldn't share this past, hes family not from here. Not saying he wouldn't be bigger than the average "I've been called the N word, I'll kill ya" sort, but we really will never know his action of youth.

If race is an issue then he counts as black because black people come in all shades and he certainly wouldn't count as white. If race isn't an issue well then you never posted in this thread to begin with so you wouldn't need to read this.

Are you saying that although he spent his entire life in the US, barring 4 years in Indonesia, he somehow feels different about being called a ****** because as his Black grandparents were not descended from slaves the racism is directed at him differently?

Are you saying although he was born at a time when there were severe obstacles to Black people voting and with racist people treating him just as they would treat any other black person in America his experiences, whatever they might be, don't count?

He grew up in Hawaii,...how bad can the racism be in Hawaii. Alot of people there are the same color as him, from what the Hawaii posters show.
Too bad I don't know any black people from Hawaii...know some in Memphis. Yea kinda different.

But all this "are you saying" is not just me saying. I got a fair amount of black friends whome I've alrdy talked about this subject, and you'd be surprised what some of them have to say...even tho they all voted for him.

Why is "boy" seen as offensive to black people?
