    Nothing new, but still...

... someone might fall for it.

    I realize that:

    1) Posting links to eBay auctions is generally frowned upon on these forums. Normally I would agree, but only if it concerns links to outrageous items that serve no purpose whatsoever. This, however, is a scam warning. If I am out of line by posting this, feel free to edit or delete this post, moderators. I hope it is okay, but I apologize in advance if it is not.

    2) People who get scammed by this probably deserve it, since they volunteered to take part in duping practices. Still, Bnet would be a much nicer place if scam programs like these were not around, hence this warning post.

    3) The sale itself could very well be a scam already, and then this post wouldn't be necessary. I might even make a fool of myself posting this - everybody knows that, when you download 3d party programs from suspicious individuals, you are gonna get screwed bigtime.

But still, a warning could be in place.

It's not only done by e-mail. These people go to such heights as to make entire (really crappy-looking, but yet functional) websites dedicated to this "hack", whatever they may say the hack is (will let you dupe, maphack, tradehack, town-kill Deckard Cain for talking too much  , etc.).

I've encountered this before, in my early days, when I started playing the game. Fortunately, I was smart enough to use a different realm than my usual one (not that that would do anything), and to make a new account with a new character, before I actually ran it. I can say that I learned my lesson quick, even though I only lost a pair of javalins and a buckler  .
