noob baba issue

Apologize if this is in wrong forum.
So I started playing after a good time period, maybe 8 years. Happy to have the chance to join the ladder right when it reset. Started a frenzy barb. Everything is great until lvl 76 when I try going to hell. On USeast ladder.

Problem: Have horrible weapons, and some mediocre gear that would be fine with real weapons. I have huge attack rating and little probs hitting stuff with my toothpicks.

Equip: Silks of victor, 2x angelic rings/angelic ammy combo, rare +2 barb helm with a bunch of resists and like 180 ar, sigons boots, crap belt, cleglaws gloves

weps: spineripper (unique necro dagger for a lvl 40ish), and cleglaws dagger/glove combo(due to scaling and massive ar bonus havent been able to replace with anything better)

Now I have a couple things to trade besides tons of low lvl uniques that no one wants:
magefist
34% chanceguards
2x Sol
Hel
Lem
2x IO
11 perf gems
lots of smaller runes nef, orts, rals, etc
10% light resist 2 str SC
4% mf SC
naj's set hat
Key of Hate
IK helm
5% hit recovery 8 defense SC
would be willing to also trade silks of the victor if it would get me a decent value



now here is where I need help deciding what to do. I have a couple options.

**** Try to use what I have to trade for weps that could actually scratch hell mobs, that would allow me to get in a position to fund myself further and my favorite option but so far very unsuccessful.
OR
1. Just reroll a blizz sorc
2. Keep running NM meph/andy(taking too long to kill with crap weps though)
3. Keep running NM countess(endlessless cubing ort-sol runes till I can get something?)
4. Try to finish mootching through hell till I can mooch in hell baal runs hoping to find something, in act3 atm.


Can anyone give me some advice here. Really getting irritated that it takes the same amount of time for me to kill nm Meph as 2-3 normal mobs in hell.

I know the runewords I would like to make, but I cant get any decent weapons to make them out of.

I would love to get my hands on 2x 5 OS beserker axe, Ettin Axe, Colossus Blade, or Colossus Sword,

or even 2x 3 socket Tyrant Clubs, Devil Star, Conquest Sword, Mythical Sword, , Balrog Blade, or Small Crescent,

obviously trying to get a combo of either 2 axes, 2 swords, or 2 maces. but I would do without if need be.

Can I afford these with what I have? like magefist for one and chancies for another? maybe add in some gems or whatnot?

Run Cows for plenty of white items to do sockets recipe and Larzuk. That's how I found my armor, helm, and crystal sword, as well as half a dozen 4os poles for insights.

Specifically, the 3 rune runewords will be pretty easy to find socketed items for, as no one is picking up 3os items because they aren't the expensive sockets that are worth trades. So you can also go into chaos and baal games and pick up the trash left from everyone else.

Another option is to gamble a nice rare sword with CTC Amp damage. Will help with Phsy immunes in hell and double your damage.

crypt,mausoleum and pit e.g. are good for elite items. but attention: low mf helps u a lot ;)

:thumbup: Good job! Just takes a little perseverance. Once you are strong enough to clear Act 1 Hell, you can run the Act 1 alvl 85 areas, Countess, and Andy, and score yourself some nice stuff to beef you up even more.

I'm doing that right now with my Meteorb sorc on ladder. She's level 63 and clearing bosses and cows in NM to earn enough scratch to get gear to beat Act1 hell. Then I'll run Countess and Andy till my eyes bleed.
