Hey folks, coming back to the game after an absence. I'm trying to find a normal white-font elite poleaxe (cryptic axe hopefully) for Larzuk to socket so that I can make the Honor runeword for my merc. If I understand correctly, at too high an area level and/or magic find amount, the normal stuff doesn't drop as frequently as magical/rare. I can't seem to find particulars on this, so can anyone tell me the best area/difficulty setting to find such an item with no mf? I've run Hell Pit, NM RoF/WSK several times but can't find one.

I'd agree with Hell Cows. Although they don't have the -best- chance, according to ATMA (the flayer, in the flayer dungeon level 3, has the best chance), you'll be able to kill more cows in a single game than flayers. Hell Cows still have one of the highest chances anyway.

Otherwise, just pick any area from Act 4 Hell upwards, though the further in, the better. Any level 85 area can drop it too, of course.
