This makes a D3X2 announcement also at Gamescom seem extremely unlikely. In the past D3 games have generally been announced at Gamescom while WoW tended to dominate the Blizzcon convention... let's hope that sequence is just reversed this time? Blizzcon 2015 goes off in early November.

Blizzcon is ours ladies and gents!

I'm happy that they can concentrate on patch 2.3 in the meantime and not allow the great things it is bringing to be overshadowed by something even bigger down the line. :)

Yeah, WoW down one notch, and D3 up one notch for an exclusive BlizzCon 2015 premiere. ^^

Well that's good because I'm going for the first time and I have little to no interest in other blizz games. So I am really, really excited if this scenario comes to pass :)

By the way, it's surprising that Blizzard actually killed the gamescom surprise by posting the WOWX6 teaser today. We did stir up something with all our recent speculations, didn't we? ^^

They're gonna announce World of Warcraft (the game) at Gamescon, and Warcraft (the movie) at Blizzcon. Maybe they'll have the 2.4/S5 demo at Blizzcon, but probably not. Need more floor space for Heroes and Hearthstone and the Overwatch. Aka, freemium shovelware w/ above average polish.

Question: If they reveal WOWX6 on stage on Thursday 6 at 17:45 CET, what do they announce on Wednesday 5 at 12:00 CET during the gamescom press conference?

Now this makes me wonder if the expansion was killed in favor of Diablo 4.

Look at Kanai's Cube. That's a ballin' feature! The mystic's reroll ability was a game changer and Kanai's cube is way better. If they're giving us the cube for free, what are they saving for Act 6? Kulle is basically a 4th artisan.

The Ruins of Secheron and the Cesspools were probably legitimate unused content. But if we see like, Xiansai or Skovos in season 5, I'm right.

i was wondering this as well. the cube is something that would help sell the xpac so if we get that for free what are they saving? would we really get a diablo 4 this soon though? i cant imagine we would though i would not be against it

Who cares about the expansion, anyway? Is anyone really looking forward to spending more money on another garbage act with a lame story? The patch model of D3 is WAY better, and totally free. The cube is more impactful than The lame duck Mystic. Blizz pretty much botched the D3 campaign badly. They should save time & money and just patch in a new class. I'd bet the majority of players would rather have 2 new classes than a new act!

Skill & item overhaul, of course, but we surely know by now Blizzard isn't going to change any core mechanics during D3s run.

If you're comparing numbers, you should take a look at the boxes actually sold for D3, and not the monthly average (max) number of players. You could count in revenues made due to the auction house, as long as it was live, but I dunno if there's any data available on that...
