Am I right in thinking that in Diablo 2 I cannot heal or equip my mercenary, this can only be done in the Lord of Destruction expansion pack?

Hmmm if im not wrong u can heal ur merc... u just need to go back town and talk to the town's healer.. unfortunately u cant equip items on ur merc in classic ^^ Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for this info. In what version of the game can I euip and heal my merc?

1.07 Lord of Destruction and higher versions for equippable mercs and healing out of town. Mercs can be healed by NPCs in any version.

In all versions the merc can also be healed by drinking from wells, but not health or refilling shrines.

Thanks, look like I have bought the wrong version. Should have got Lord of Destruction instead.

You need Diablo 2 Classic to be able to play the expansion anyway. Which costs less than 10 euros here.
