Newbie with Sorceress. Build question, any thoughts?

Hello, I never played a Sorceress and I am going to play D2 again, after some years.

I am focusing the game on PVM, playing with 2-3 RL friends all the time.

What kind of build would you guys suggest to use to play?

    Thanks so much.

Blizzballer is my current favorite build, but check the stickies for ideas.

So far, I've had the most fun with a Lightning build. (Chain Lightning, Lightning Bolt, Charged Bolt, Lightning Mastery) Decent damage, nice room clearing abilities, and shooting Lightning everywhere is just fun.

I also had a Blizzard Sorc, and she was also quite fun to play. If you focus on just Blizzard and all available synergies, Blizzard will put out LOTS of damage.

Both Lightning and Blizz Sorcs are great for magic find runs, from what I have read.

The only tree I've had little experience with is fire. It puts out nice numbers, but there are also a lot of fire immunes in Hell. However, if you are playing with two other people, they can most likely kill what you cannot.

    Fire all the way.

You'll kill everything thats not fire immune, your mates will kill the lowly fallens.

I wouldn't advise goin with a single tree. It is a major pain in the arse when theres always a group of immune. Go for a a dual tree. Like blizzard/Lightning or Meteor/Frozen orb or Blizzard/fire ball. or if your friend is using a melee character use a lightning/enchantress

He's gonna play with mates all the time. All won't go fire probably.

Ahh in that case he can really go for anythin. Just if his friend can't come on one day make sure he hopes he don't meet an immune ahaha

If you're just starting up and don't have a generous and wealthy friend, then a blizz sorc is cheap to equip and pretty lethal, and if you've got friends the cold immunes in hell won't be much bother. But really, any tree is going to be fine so long as you pick the right skills to max.
