Newbie seeking help

First time poster--

So, I'm back playing again after years off... yata, yata.

Starting from scratch, I've decided to make an MF hammerdin for fun. What I'd like help with is critiquing the gear list I've put together so far. Change this, change that, etc.

I was hoping to show a picture of the setup in the thread itself, instead of a link, but I'm not sure how to do that, so please check out the link instead.

Also, if it's possible to show the pic in the thread I'll change it.

Thanks!

With that set up you will be reaching the 75% fcr bp which imo is fine for pvm. You might come up a little short on res, but with charms or switch your rings to wisp/dwarf you should be fine. 250-300% mf is what you should aim for after that diminishing returns really start to kick in and its not worth piling on any extra. See how well it works out and if you die too much or are too weak in some area and switch gear to make your pally better.

In my opinion, res will not be a problem, supposing you have done all 3 Anya quests.. Optimally you'll get [email protected] from Mara, [email protected] from HotO and [email protected] + 35 LRes/PRes/CRes from the paladin spirit.

But you should aim for 125fcr in my opinion - this can be accomplished in several ways:

Magefists/Trang-Oul's gloves - 20fcr
Rare/Magic Circlet/Coronet/Tiara/Diadem with +2 paladin/20fcr/...
Rare/Magic amulet with +2 paladin/10fcr/...
Crafted amulet with +2 paladin/20fcr/... <-- This will not be cheap!
Wizardspike - 50fcr
Rare/Magic rings with 10fcr

For example Magefists instead of Chanceguards and a 10fcr ring instead of a Nagel will net you 125fcr (supposing your spirit is 35fcr). Of course you'll loose up to 70 mf, but the increase in killing speed will be well worth it in my experience. MF can be gotten from charms, whereas fcr cannot.
And you should definately use a Spirit shield, as it is the only source of FHR with the listed equipment. With 55fhr you will recover from a blow in 5 frames (48fhr breakpoint), which will be sufficient for PvM (next breakpoint is 86fhr). And if at all possible you should use a Sacred Targe to make it in (highest blocking)

The replies are appreciated guys, thanks.

If I were to create the Spirit in a Sacred Targe, the highest strength requirement of all the gear would be on the war travs @ 95.

Which armor do you think I should use for Enigma; something light so I can put more points in vit?

Sounds reasonable. I would use a Mage Plate, Dusk Shroud or Archon Plate, because all are common bases for an Enigma, and thus are easy to trade at a later stage. The lowest str armor you can make an Enigma in is a Breast Plate.
