Newbie OT question about Windows task bar

For some reason my task bar is now displayed at the left of the screen instead of the bottom. How can I undo this ? It's annoying...

Left-Click on an empty space on the taskbar itself, and hold down the mouse button. Now drag it to the bottom completely (you might need to move the mouse virtually to the opposite side to actually move the taskbar).

Make sure it's not locked either (right-click, untick lock taskbar).

Hmm, I'm currently not at home, but it's probably the task bar being locked. I will try it later. Thanks !

Oh man, I've had that happen to me a few times. It took so much clicking and dragging to fix it, it was terrible. I guess I wasn't doing it "correctly".

I've had the same thing happen at work and at home a few times.

My first reaction to the thread title was...

OMG Krischan has a newbie question! :p

But a high post count helps at being right when not being right.

Regarding the issue, I still have good old Win98 here, as I bought a barebones PC with no CD-ROM, mouse, keyboard and all the stuff you already have anyway and got an old, unused Win98 CD from work for free. There is no "lock taskbar" option. I tried clicking and dragging everywhere and when I did it somewhere at the bottom of the task bar, it jumped to its old destination. I'm too much afraid to reproduce it, however

Thanks for all the help.

Well if you have any problems with it, let me know.

I'll grap a steel pipe, hop on a plane to Germany and smash it up for you, no cost.

I'm glad I made it without falling back to plan B.
Which is buying a powerful machine and installing Vista RC1? You know that is a better plan IMHO:wink3:.
