newb uberdiablo question

first off i just wanted to say this is a cool forum, i've been a long time lurker and now a first time poster.

a friend and i were discussing uber diablo, and had an idea: if you need to sell SoJ's to a merchant to spawn him, is it possible to buy back the SoJ and then sell it again? It doesn't really matter, because i have yet to find even one, but we were intrigued by the idea. thanks in advance,

If you sell a Stone of Jordan to a merchant, it does not show up in their inventory, thus you are unable to buy it back. If you could buy it back, you could be sure of seeing Diablo Clone in practically every game, as it would only require a heap of gold and one soj to get him to spawn for the entire server.
