New With Questions

Hey all. I use to play D2 constantly but stopped about two years ago but no I have the urge again. I was wondering what all if any change has happened to the game. What characters are good and what makes of characters are good now. Also when I start playing I'll be on the east. Since all my friends stopped playing any good people willing to play sometime with me? Thanks in advance for all the help.

The changes are way too many to list here. There were 23 new runewords released recently so that's the biggest change in recent days. You'll see lots of different character builds are popular. The standards still exist and do well: Hammerdins, Zealots, Meteorb, Skellimancer, Boners, Windy, Trappers, WW/Berserker/Conc barbs, Straffers are all still working fine. I'm on East Ladder if you wanna look me up sometime I'll give ya a free rush. *7y7

I wonder if it is something in the air. I used a play a lot as well, and just came back after a few years. This is an amazingly well developed site just packed with information on all the changes.

One of the biggest mistakes I made was thinking I had the expansion when I just had D2, bought new out of a bin. I didn't look too closely, just threw on the CD and intalled it and went 20 levels with my Palladin trying to figure out what people were talking about half the time -- runes, charms, etc etc are all 'new' with the expansion. Maybe you already knew that but I didn't.

So a couple of nights ago I dropped by the store and bought the expand and now it is all making sense. I just started on Act V, and so far it is great and a lot of fun. The larger inventory area takes a lot of the hard decision making out of the game IMO, which has its pluses and minuses.

Again, if you know all this, sorry to drone on, but just in case you don't, I advise you to chuck out a few more bucks and get the expansion sooner instead of later.
