what are the flavor of the month pkers classes/ spec.
what would u recommend?
was thinking tornado druid / hurricane, or a pally. dunno though HC seems like a totallly different game.

From my experience, it's totally pointless to try to do this, because (as a number of the other posters in this thread have pointed out), 95% of PKers in Hardcore games on the Battle.Net Realms are script kiddie griefer cheaters who use hacks like TPPK, etc. -- they always strike without warning, by surprise, while they're safely back in town (this is the whole point of the TPPK cheat, so that they run
no risk at all to themselves while destroying their victims' characters with a 'stab in the back'). Somehow these twisted little idiots seem to think that doing this kind of thing proves that they're 'tough', when in reality all that it proves is that they're too cowardly to duel in the way that Blizzard intended duels to be conducted.
There are a few -- a
very few -- PKers like Barrynor who have the integrity to build honestly outfitted dueling characters and to take their lumps, that is, to stay out of the "safe" town areas and to duel people who they hostile (thus running the risk that they'll get killed themselves, not just the intended PK victim). However you will find that these guys are few and far between. You will never get an honest shot at 95% of the other PKers because they are cowardly cheaters who need the crutch of things like ChickenHack, etc., to let them keep bullying other players on Battle.Net.
You might get a chance to pay them back by noting their account names and character names and then following them into a different game... but the problem is that without using a cheat like TPPK yourself, the minute that you hostile them, they'll usually either S&E or go back to town, and even if they don't, most honest D2 players have little chance against a cheater with hacked items that (for example) give them 99% elemental resistance, elite Runewords made from duped runes bought from on-line stores with Daddy's credit card, and so on.
(I saw one guy who had an entire collection of high-damage, ethereal rare weapons like War Pikes with 800% ED, etc, for his PK charger....
every one of which, was socketed with a Zod rune (for indestructibility), there must have been 10 or more of these. So far in over 6 years of playing D2 I have yet to find or cube a
single Zod rune. Draw your own conclusions on how likely he was to have found those honestly, and then ask yourself if you would be likely to defeat him in a "legit" duel.)
The point is that the PKers aren't playing the same game as you are. You are playing Diablo II, and they are playing "Kill n00bs with me in God Mode". I think it's a waste of time, but it's up to you.
