New to fishy, 3 questions

Hey all im new to summoner please help:

1. Ima put 20 in RS, SM, and CE. what abou tthe rest? decrep? amp? mages? revive?

2. Should I use clay/fire golem as my main?

3. IT seems that whatever the necro uses, it applies to the skellies. Is this so? For example, if i use 6soc zerk socketed with ber runes, will my skellis have huge CB? I never knew this lol

EDIT: Sorry ive got the fourth and fifth question lol

4. Merc? Might aura?
5. Lastly, How do i kill corpses to get skellies in the first place? like in hell, i cant hit stuff can i?

Thanks in advance

at least one point in clay golem and revives.....one in amp dam, one in decripify, one in dim vision, one in attract.....don't forget one in bone armor

I don't think your CB gets transferred over......

Yes use might aura, try not to have any cole/freeze damage if you can as that ruins corpses for revive/CE/skeles/mages

I'd just go to cold plains and rely on your merc who should be able to kill most monsters in a1 by himself with amp or decripify.....even attract could work

1) I personally like mages, but there is this argument that mages obstruct the skeles... but I still like mages :)

2) Clay is very useful for slowing stuff down. The guide says Fire keeps aggro, but you can avoid most things anyway...

3) Nothing of that sort on your necro is transferred as far as i know.

4) Might, absolutely

5) Your merc can kill things, or you can use pindle's garden. Free corpses. Just make sure the portal stays open.

1) You'll find mixed opinions on mages. My personal opinion is that you should max mages and put one point in revive. You also want a pt in golem mastery and clay golem. Make sure to get 1pt in summon resist as well or your skellies will have sucky resistances. After all this, 1pt in bone armor and the rest in bone wall (because bone wall synergizes and boosts bone armor more than points in BA).

2) Clay

3) As previous poster said, only MF and GF.

4) Might merc with some source of crushing blow. Possibilities are Guillame's Face helm, Obedience runeword polearm, triple-shaeled Hone Sundan, Infinity runeword polearm if you're rich.

5) Your merc kills monsters to get your corpses for your skellies.

The last point brings up an important issue which is that the higher your fishymancer gets, the more your rely on your merc and CE and less on the skellies for killing. Most of your killing gets done by corpse explosion. The skellies do provide killing power, but they are mostly a meat shield.

I agree with Zuke. Unless you are going untwinked 1 pt in the curses/golem/golem mastery/summon resists/revive is enough.

I too am a big fan of mages. Mostly for thier benefit against bosses/ubers.

The reason I mentioned going untwinked is tht without quite a few +skills you may need to put 5 points in summon resist instead of 1 or like 10 into dim vision instead of 1.

So you will need to kind of guess at what kind of end game gear your going to be using, and plan your build around that. The great thing about a fishy though is if you misplace a couple of points, no biggie, he will still rock.

Like Zuke said, Merc/CE will be doing 99% of your killing.

Yeah, make sure you have a beefed up merc. Skellys are simply there to soak stuff up and keep too many things from attacking you and your merc, they actually don't do that much damage unless you have a bajillion +skills, pride, and beast, etc. Even then, your merc (with stuff like infinity CV or something) still does far more damage.

About DV route:

Thats why I mentinoned about going untwinked. If you have +18 skills no need to put more than 1 point in DV. If not, you really need to get it at least lvl 20 after plus skills. IIRC DV's length is reduced in hell, so lower levels of DV require constant casting.

ilovesoccor: are you going to twink your Summoner? It changes how you allocate your skill points. For example: I use untwinked found only gear and I normally put 5-10 in Revive because I like to have about 10 meatshields to help tank for me. However with awesome gear you only need to put one hard point into Revive to get 10-15 revives. Same with Dim Vision. If you are planing to have around +15 to skills then 1 hard point into DV is enough in my opinion. You can add more for a better range/duration.

As far as golems go, I use a 1 point clay golem with maxed golem mastery.

Edit:
If you are going untwinked found gear only, try to get max resists. I go for lightning first, fire second, cold third, poision fourth. I will even sacrifice a +skill item for better resists when I play untwinked self found games. That plus a Good DV will keep you alive all the way past Hell Baal. Which I have killed many times with an untwinked self found Fishy. ;-)

Also I am a believer in maxing skeleton mages. This is my own personal choice but the elemental damage makes a difference in my playing. Especially in taking down Physical Immunes. I still Amp damage them but the mages really shine in these fights.

DV length is 50% in Nightmare and 25% in hell. That means that maxed DV in Hell will give you 10-15 seconds (depending on gear), which is comfortable.
