New season observation....

It seems to me that this ladder season the lines to create games in USWest are huge in comparison to the lines last season. Is this due to the fact that botting is more prevalent than ever, and the bots creating and recreating games so quickly is what is causing the long lines, or am I just imagining things? :scratch:

I have noticed the long lines too and I think the only explaination is that people are botting. It is pretty annoying when mfing places like eldrich/pindle that take very little time to do. You end up spending as much if not more time waiting for the game than you do mfing in it. Blizzard doesn't seem to be doing anything about botting so it may stay like this for a while.

That is pretty unfortunate. Just another way that legit players get the short end of the stick I guess.

If bliz was going to do a mass ban for botting, they probably would have done it a long time ago as it has been a problem for a while. We can always hope but don't expect anything to happen.

It's not just the pin botting though.
It's also;
Summer IE more people are home more of the time
New ladder season, those same more people have more interest in the game
DC game hunting bots, create much more often than pin bots
And of course the combination of more people playing more often, means there's more money to be made botting, toss in the fact there's been a serious lack of bannings and there's no real incentive to not do it.

Yea there will probably be a mass banning soon. Unfortunately it's always random so legit players get they're accounts wiped because of all the botters. How sad.

uhhh....has anyone thought blizzard is doing this to combat botters? Since the games start slower for everyone, it only really effects those who make massive numbers of games....

Those only mfing shenk, etc. and botters. People who start questing games really aren't losing anything.

The clone hunt bots do make more games, but the thing is, with pindlebots servers are at full capacity 24/7. normally people go to sleep ect. Now people are running 4 coppies of D2 on 2 computer (or 1 computer) and botting on all 4 of them constantly. And while they are trading they can still be botting with 3 accounts... anyway. This is really just another way blizzard is showing disregard to their customers.

I didn't understand the whole Clone hunting thing so I went over to the General Strategy forum to check it out. Needless to say I now get it and can see how Clone Hunters would contribute a great deal to the problem regarding game lines. I guess the hot demand for ladder items, esecially Anni charms (being early season and all), primarily on Ebay, has also contributed to the problem.

If only there was some way Blizzard could make it illegal to sell Diablo items on ebay (stupid concept I know). I guess first and foremost the Botting problem should be addressed.

OT: I assume it will be a lot harder to acquire Anni charms this season due to the lack of Sojs on non ladder compared to the situation when season one began where duped sojs were so abundant they were almost worthless. :spy:

I doubt its only botters. Because when the ladder season started i could never make a game with less then a 400 line. Of corse it has only gotten worse (1k + every time now).
