Whether or not taking gold is BM is NOT the topic of this thread, please move any further discussion to the OT thread or create a new one.

lol taking gold is bm?

so what about when i need to repair or my gear, or i need pots, or i want the gold to gamble at gheeds?

gold can be generated quite easily i.e i use a gf barb and if im in a pub i hide gold a wp if i dont want stolen or i simply make sure i dont die..

u should be greatfull that the ppl don't nk u imo..
I have all the waypoints. :)

PvP is just good fun. You can practice and become better, but never be the best.

its very easy to be the best.

just pick an unplayed build and make it your own .
200 FCR TK Sorc? Annoy the crap out of everyone and run away. Then when others kill each other, TK their ear. :azn: EZ 5-0.

OR a 174 FCR Hammersin!

i wanted to make a SHADOWSIN, with 174 fcr and super crazy shadow.

i'd just hold down mb on them and pin them up to a wall, and let the shadow slowly tickle them to death.

#1.

@MysticDragon: You can't pick up ears with tk, I tried :lipsrsealed:

As for pvp, it's addign a totally new dimension to combat, figthing a real player on equal grounds (or well, at least somewhat, until we're getting to who has the 1337est gear ) is so much more fun that pounding baal for the 500th time.
Another player adapts, makes plans and tries to kill you the best he or she can, while you have to try the same on your own. Oh the fun pvp really is!

And ofc it's to decide who is the best

plus pvp is much more exciting than killing the same old brainless monster over and over again.
Instead you have the opportunity to kill brainless pub duelers over and over again. :azn:

I'm sure some other Europe players can point you in the direction of dueling leagues or even channel to meet up with others for duels. Give the player matchup section of the community forums a search, there might already be some relevant postings on the same matter. Also the dueler registry in the pvp stickies would be a decent place to look for any particular matchups.

I cant understand one thing when reading true the thread's.
I can see in guide's and so on that they dont level up there char to 99, instead they are level them up to 30-50 and so on, why ? The char must be better with higher level, or ?

No, people usually level their characters to around 80-90, some even further. The reason for not leveling to 99 is that it's usually not necessary for the build to be complete and it takes time.

People level their characters to lower levels because there is a community of duelers who prefer to use lower level characters. For example, a Fire Ball Sorceress can be leveled to 90+ and use all the gear available in the game, but a similar sorceress can be made at level 30 (of course she will use different gear). In this case the goal is not to make the best Fire Ball Sorceress possible, but to make the best FBer at lvl 30. People who make low level characters generally duel against other people with characters of the same level. Interestingly, the difference between a level 85 character and one that is 95 is not nearly as great as the difference between one that is level 30 and one that is lvl 37. This is due to the gear that becomes available (level reqs) as you go higher in level, whereas at the higher levels the only difference is usually the 5 extra vita points and a synergy boost to the attack skill. The difference between a level 93 and a 99 is even smaller, and given the amount of time required for 99 most people level to a little over 90 and stop.

Barbarians are very good in PvP, the most used varient is the BvC which uses Enigma and x2 weapons (usually Grief and Beast). While there isn't a guide at the moment, there is quite a bit of info available on these forums. You could also try searching Google. I'll caution you though, the BvC is a very expensive dueler to make, and takes a long time to get good with. Once you get good with your barb you'll have a fighting chance vs. any opponent. When you're starting PvP, don't get discouraged by repeated losses. Good players of ANY class will likely destroy you when you're starting out.

Like Happy Assassin said, most popular Barbarian is the BarbvCaster (BvC) build, which is a Barb that uses Whirlwind and teleports. Core gear is something like:

Helm: Arreat's
Amulet: Highlords
Weapon1: 'Grief' Berserker Axe (required at least 34% ias)
Weapon2: 'Beast' Berserker Axe
Armor: Enigma Mage Plate/Archon Plate/Dusk Shroud
Belt: Arachnids
Gloves: Trang-Ouls
Ring: Ravenfrosts
Boots: Duped Rares, tri res Rares, Goreriders

Inventory: Torch, Anni, rest Max Damage/Ar/Life charms

There are other gear switches you can make, like being able to use Crown of Ages, Stormshield Monarch, Fortitude Armor, using Dracul's Gloves, using Wizardspikes socketed with Um for high resist and open wounds against Sorceresses, or putting on a Widowmaker bow against Hammerdins. Do personal research to find the build you want most.

Skills:

20 Whirlwind
20 Axe Mastery
20 Battle Orders
20 Leap
1 Berserk
1 Battle Command (if not using x2 Call to Arms on switch)
1 - X Increased Speed
1 - X Natural Resistance
1 - X in Shout

That's what I'd do. With a max'd Leap, you can use Arreat/Enigma/Arachnid/Highlord's/Torch/Anni/Battle Command and your 20 hard points to reach skill level 33, which gives you a Leap radius of 18.6, which can Knockback things not on your screen. The other stuff is all preference.

Stats

Str: Enough for gear.
Dex: Enough for gear.
Vitality: Everything.
Energy: Mana pots.

Do some searches on other sites for a good guide, good luck with it.

A few fixes:
Helm: CoA 'BerBer'
Gloves: Dracul's or Trang-Oul's
Armor: Any Enigma you can wear without adding STR is fine

Inventory: Torch, Anni, rest Max Damage/Ar/Life charms
Nope. Torch, Annihilus, 4x5fhr small charms, 2-3 life/mana charms, rest max/ar/life small charms would be optimal.

Using Stormshield on a BvC is the sign of no knowledge whatsoever. Of course, in fictional situations, Stormshield can be used.

1 Battle Command (if not using x2 Call to Arms on switch)

3-5 Increased Speed, 2-6 Nat Res, rest Shout. Why the heck would you use 2 CTAs? It gives you +5 bo ...

The Radius in the Skill Description is the Radius of the jump, not the knockback. At lvl 33, the radius of your knockback would be 23.76 yards.

Str: Enough for gear.
Dex: Enough for gear.
Vitality: Everything.
Energy: Mana pots.
And this translated to 63str/47 or 57 dex if you have perfect gear.

Isn't Cta capped at 3 bo for barbs? But ya there are better switches.

To the TC: Listen to this guy before me, he knows a lot more than I do with this build.

i find pvp rather boring. It consists mostly of roughly the same builds, because there are just a few overpowered builds that dominate too easily. Add in that these builds are mainly controlled by kids that stand in front of town to jump you the moment you walk out.
Where in pvm you can succeed with refreshing builds and exciting new ideas, pvp has become very cookiecutter stuff.

Also the only text you will see from the other players in the duelgame will mainly consist of 5 words. NOOB PWNED IZI OMFG NK. So when you go in you better squelch every1.

So it isn't as exciting as everyone wants you to believe in this topic.
