New Necro to Hell Diff.

First off I play SP RRW/RWM 1.11b if that is important. Right now I'm working on a lvl 82 fishymancer and I'm liking the build alot. He's in Act 1 Hell ATM, as I have put off questing for a bit to MF the Pits. Well...

1. What is a "good" run time for the Pits for a fishy? I seem to be averaging about 2-4 min per Pit run (BTW I have no Enigma for porting) . Is that way too slow (i.e. am I messing around too much picking up useless junk/not using my character the best).

2. What would be a good player setting for a fishy? /Players 3 doesn't seem to slow me down too much.

3. Off the top of my head I'm running about 300 MF on self and about 75 on merc. About how often would should I see a unique on 1 player? How about on 3? (Not sure if this one is answerable).

Thanks for your time,

LH

Note: I posted this in the Newcommer forum as well, I just wanted to see if the Necro forum would be the better place for this.

keep increasing the player settings until it slows u down alot. 2-4 mins is god speed(not even the strongest lite sorc on battle net can do it in 2 mins), u sure it isnt 5-10 mins? Pop the chests with players8.

He's SP, so he has the maps down. No need to search or anything if he has a good map. But I would say 2~4 min is still a bit too fast. Are you sure you are running both lvls?

I'm probably underestemating it a bit, I timed a few and they were about 4 or 5 min. Those just seemed a bit slower than normal cuz my might merc died and I had to port back to town (takes forever for the skellies to kill anything without him, even amped).

So how often should do you think I find uniques? The only thing of not I've found so far is a Draculs Gloves, but havent done too many runs yet. Hoping to hit a Homunculos (sp?) someday out of there because that is the only spot where I'd really like something better.

try players 5 first.. although i think fishies can run pits at p8 without any problems.

the pits is more or less like gambling, since it's not certain that it'll net you uniques/sets consistently. but when you do get them, there's a chance that they'll be godly=)

if you're looking for high tc items, just rush the area and kill boss packs or groups of champions. it'll be much quicker to disregard the rest of the monsters.

A good way to "disregard" other monsters is to cast dim vision on them, and then move forward. Notice that some of your skeletons may still want to engage them as you move forward - difficult to implement without teleport.

I know that the pits have a high TC but I have always used them looking for socketables. Never really to find uniques, but if you found some dracs then be happy thats a good find, just not really for your char.
