New Mf necro to new account. Help.

Hey. I just started a new account and am completely and utterly poor. Im also not overly familiar with the new patch as I haven't played since 1.09. I've always loved necros but I figure I need a character to start mfing with and getting some gear in stock. Since I don't have any gear right now what do you think would be the best build and how to go about it?

 

A summoner would be pretty effective as a MFer.

With minions, your skills should look something along the lines of:

Max Summon Mastery
Max Raise Skeleton
Max CE

1 into Amp, misc curses, golem of your choice, revives, summon resists, etc.

Left overs can go into Mages if you'd like them to be stronger.


A strategy to raising an army would be to have a strong merc. Equip him with decent gear.

Helm: Tal's Mask, Crown of Thieves
Armor: Duriel's Shell, Lionheart Runeword
Weapon: Reaper's Toll, Bonehew (eth would be nice, with 2 AMNs), Insight Elite runeword.

There are other options too that I have not listed and probably forgot to mention.


For your gear, try to have decent +summoning skills, and 75% resists always.

Get a fishymancer as suggested by jackson.

You prolly won't need Reaper's toll on the merc though, since you can do the cursing by yourself unless you like to forget about cursing all together.

Some people also invest in alot of points into amp damage since a larger radius of amp damage also directly benefits from your large CE radius.

Very true. I usually type things very fast and without time to double check. Contrary to what I said above, Reapers is a no-no, since you might not want the curse to override yours.

Ah.. and another weapon that's sort of nice would be Arioc's Needle, or Hone Sundan. Ethereal versions would be nice, of course.

 

Insight is an awesome weapon. Never run out of mana chain CEing. :-D

 

Don't forget tele with nigma, mana bulb never drops with insight. ;D

 

yeah make a fishy mancer load up with p topazes and run pits till you have enough wealth for your next character
