I bet the drops are just showcase examples or the entire D3 economy would be ruined unless the put everything obtainable/upgradable in infinite numbers 0.o

Cool video though of the monk in action.

The death animations sometimes really *POP* apart :)

Is that commenter guy in the beginning nervous or what? And why is he wearing eyebrow make-up?

Yea, the guy talking there...it almost seem like they sneak filmed the screen behind him. Maybe he's rapidly talking while the camera guy just zoomed in on the action.

Someone translate that dude and see if he says Bananas over and over again ;)

Nice find. Most of the items seen in the video:

Code:
[B]Superior Leather Pants[/B]
* +34% armor

[B]Imbued Heavy Boots[/B]
* Spells and abilities cost 2 less mana (Witchdoctor and Wizard only)

[B]Leather Boots of Haste[/B]
* +12% Movement Speed

[B]Imbued Leather Boots of Fortification[/B]
* +5 Armor
* Spells and abilities cost 2 less mana (Witchdoctor and Wizard only)

[B]Lucky Leather Pants[/B]
* 9% Better Chance of Finding Magical Items

[B]Yew Stick of Gore[/B]
* +5-6 Damage

[B]Long Staff[/B] (unid)

[B]Spiked Club[/B] (unid)

[B]Spirit Crack[/B]
(rare mace)
* Each Hit Adds 1-2 Mana (?)
* +3 Maximum Damage
* +2-3 Fire Damage

[B]Inferior Skull Cap [/B]
* -32% Armor

[B]Skull Cap of Brilliance[/B]
* +5 to Willpower

[B]Scale Gloves of Brawn[/B]
* +3 to Strength

[B]Leather Gloves of Accuracy[/B]
* +5 to Dexterity

[B]Superior Leather Belt[/B]
* +21% Armor

[B]Leather Belt of the Bear[/B]
* +14 to Life

[B]Spark Stomper[/B]
(rare boots)
* +15 Armor
* 9% Better Chance of Finding Magical Items
* 6 Lightning Resistance

[B]Scale Mail of Fitness[/B]
* +5 to Vitality

[B]Ornate Scale Mail[/B]
* Worth 150% more gold to Vendors

[B]Bewitched Yew Staff of Frost[/B]
* Spells Add 17% More Damage
* +3-6 Cold Damage
What's interesting to note is that normal items of poor/good quality are still in and that magic find appears on boots. I thought the rare mace said it added
mana per hit, but that might perhaps be something else.

It can be add mana on hit, you just get 2 mana returned to you, just like mana-leech.

Re: New Game play video here

Absolutely, but I thought they were going to get rid of such affixes because eventually only one class will be using mana in the final version. Maybe it was just something they were messing around with at the time, seeing as only the barbarian had a unique resource back then.

If you watch closely you'll actually see that the first three numbers are the actual gold value and that they are only followed by a comma and two zeros instead of three. The extra values are from the spreadsheet drop charts that haven't been cleaned up to not appear in the game, so by act 2 we'll be seeing gold drops of 50 - 150 from normal mobs. Not 50k - 150k.

Re: New Game play video here

Good find. I just news'ed it.

I'm curious who is playing and under what circumstances, since you could not reach Alcarnus in the 20 minute play time. Not unless you just ran through the entire desert area straight to it, and this guy doesn't look like he's in any real hurry. Plus he obviously did enough battling to pick up an entire inventory full of junk, as seen right at the start of the movie.

Since someone asked about the boots; they're rare, with random stats. You get magical and rare items all the time for quest rewards in D3. They dropped on the ground (right at the start, when the Monk runs through the city gates and "completes" the quest) since his inventory is entirely full.

Yay! I'm proud I got "newsed" on frontpage being a long long time follower of the site.

Anyways, to me it looks like that Spark Stomper pop out as he completes that quest. No quest turn in reward there. And the only reason why it pops out is because his stash is full.
I think that is still on the design stage, easily missed if that stuck to the release.

Yeah, you get magical and rare items for quest rewards all the time in D3. The reward comes when you "complete" the quest. Often this requires speaking to the NPC who gave you the quest, but sometimes you just need to do an action. Kill a monster, escort another NPC, or in this case, reach the gates of Alcarnus.

The quest reward item goes into your inv, unless it's full...

Drops were turned up in this demo, in frequency and quality, so character rapidly filled up. I was picking up only blue and better, and I still had to stop every 15 or 20 minutes to ID about 20 items, and drop the 18 of them that weren't improvements over what I was already wearing.

Re: New Game play video here

So I'm hoping for a "indentify all" function.

And I can understand why they made rewards like this, I know they talked about not wanting the players to have to go back to town every few kills to sell loot. They want us out in the fields.

It seemed to me that some of the blue drops were already identified, like the Leather Gloves of Haste towards the end of the clip. Unless I confuse those with quest rewards.

Re: New Game play video here

why do we even still have to id stuff? with all the other adjustments to game play to keep us out and playing more than doing minor tasks why have us id items at all? just have them ready to go when they drop
