    *NEW* Fan Altered Wizard

Hi. So I've been browsin around for years and finally felt compelled to post something. I'm sick and tired of this blizzard bull**** with the colors and wow character crap. I am a designer and artist with a background in 3d and I can tell you right now they could have easily made the game dark and brooding with awesome light radius effects. Given that 3d is all light driven they could just turn down the green in the lights and tweak the textures. You would be able to see everything fine. Aside from that, I created a altered wizard that I think is a bit cooler and more in line with the diablo esthetic. Please repost my wizard to battle net forums or wherever else people can see it. Here it is.

Your word against the word of the people who actually designed the game engine with the game itself. Good luck!

Not bad at all. But would this be a bit difficult to see in some of the greenish lighted dungeons?

Not only that, but we've seen what happens when the exact effects are applied--you can't see anything.

Why shouldn't we be able to? We could see stuff in D1, so if they did the same, what would be the difference?

As for the wizard, turning his armor green doesn't make him look any cooler imo. He still looks like a eunuch and has a crappy helmet.

We could see in D1 once it got bright again.

When there's a dark navy blue carver on a pitch black background (almost constant in the first 4 levels), you can't see him unless you scan with the mouse and look for an outline.

The original colours looked better. We have no idea what the original helm looks like ingame and we have even less of an idea what the modified helm looks like ingame.

Though it looks really cool, it's almost impossible to do in a 3D engine because you can’t have lighting that smart and run on systems that are reasonable. If we could do that, we probably would in a few of the dungeons.

Your design looks more like a Druid then a Wizard.

Also have to agree with Fmulder, it would get lost in a green zone.

Feylight, can I ask what are you designing normally?

Because you designed pretty nice Wizard character for this picture but if you have any experience with games designing or at least with some animations, you can't just paint "armor" with dark grayish-green and brighter grayish-green, decrease size of shoulders and helm and expect that anyone can see any details on this character from perspective view and from larger distance and in motion. This just doesn't work with your colors and shapes.

I like the hat but the colors are quite frankly terrible. The green, gold and gray all blends together in a mossy mess and much of the detail is lost in the process.

    Somehow I doubt that.
Unless you design renderings of mold samples for scientific labs.
