I ran into an interesting mini-event today while playing on the PTR – the Anvil of Sin. I found it on Arreat Crater lvl 1 – see attached screenshot.
When I clicked on it, the claws/horns closed around the sword and waves of monsters were spawned: first scorpions, then blazing ghouls, then a purple-named dark berzerker (don't remember its name) spawned. When I killed him, I got a legendary as part of the loot. After the mobs were dead, I was able to click on the anvil again and got just a crappy rare oni blade.
I have never encountered this before (and I've run through that level many, many times before in D3V). Does anyone know if this is part of D3V but just extremely rare? On the other hand, this makes me think of the new cursed chests as well, but when you click on the anvil to start the "event", there isn't anything listed on the screen (and no achievement either). Anyway, just throwing this out if anyone else has found this before. I tried a few more runs of that level and didn't find it again.
