New ES Light Sorc, block or no?

My newest ESlight sorc I've been debating with myself if i want to go blocking or not using an eld whistans, base str of course, what should i do?

We've already kinda touched base on this... but I would go with none block and take the extra mana... it depends how much you will need. Any good calculators out there? What's the % on that??? 93% or something along those lines?

itd be about 94, the reason im asking now is because i get screwed over by chargers when they just keep on charging me until i die

Having block is generally better. Without it some matchups are much more difficult than they need to be:

-A good WW-barb could conceivably kill you in 1 ww if you have no blocking.
-A 7-frame zon with a knockback bow.......
-WW-sins
-And of course, chargers.

You'll lose like 700 mana to get blocking with that shield. Assuming your sorc will still have the same equip and stats as before aside from dex for blocking, the only matchup where having less mana might change the outcome of the duel would be against a fully loaded lightning sorc.

Well using the same numbers I ran a couple days ago and if you're using Imps we're looking at about 60% +mana and with an 80% BO.

(1273*2.4)+135+40 = 3230 mana

Compared to your old values with 2 sojs and lidless its about 900 mana loss. If your FCR rings have +mana then this can be offset.

2 FCR rings with...

+40 mana each => 3422 mana
+60 mana each => 3518 mana
+80 mana each => 3614 mana
+90 mana each (most possible on rare ring) => 3662 mana
+120 mana each (most possible on magic ring) => 3806 mana

Original mana with 2 soj's and lidless = 4114 mana

DOH!!! Forgot about the dex =\
I think you need like 100 points in dex with that whitstans so thats like 200 less base mana. Just subtract 500 total mana from the values I gave before.

As for CB or CL I'd probably take CL as its useful against things like summining necros and for leveling.

hrm..that kind of mana loss seems so steep , the only reason I was thinking CB was for melee such as barbs, because its hard to catch them or fast teleporters with lightning/CL, though agreed, CL is pretty useful at times.

How many of you guys out there have blocking/es/light sorcs and how do they do?

In the old ladder my light es sorc was blocking and she did well.
