New Character Idea, Necromancer-Pharoah

The Necromancer was my favorite D2 Character, and I feel this new diablo 3 is loosing it's hardcore, dark, epic feeling. I feel we need a Pharoah-Summoner. He wears soley Golden or Silver armor, most fitting for a king bloodline egyptian ruler. He will create things from swarms of scarrabs, weilding snake whips, riding sand storms, to making comrade mumies out of the corpses of fallen enemies. Imagine a character, seeming though not making an effort as he swiftly moves across the ground, perhaps holding a golden snake cane, drenched in a bright white robe. He would have a feeling of royalty about him, and he would wear a crisp white mask, with the usual golden-blue striped decorations. His skill trees could come from the gods he worships, some evil, some good, others whatever. From the gods (maybe an Anubis character or other god or goddess's) would come your skills. Evil god worshipers would specialize in snakes and poison, summoning quick lethat mummies, like the ones from I Am Legend, or making bomb scarrabs which scurry away to make every day the 4th of july. I personally think this is what Diablo 3 needs, and that this character would be sure as hell fun to play, as you can immagine. Blizzard please give this a thought.

It's Pharaoh not Pharoah.

I personally don't think DIII loses it's edge by not having a necromancer, The WD is very dark indeed, He's not royalty but he's in contact with the supernaturalworld directly, and he haunts the minds of his enemies, he sickens them, poisons them, and destroys them in body (and when he does a special attack he even sucks their souls) and souls. Diablo has always been about the world between two places, Sanctuary which lies between heaven and hell, gods, in the sense that you describe them, would not necesarily fit the world, since all we have are angels and demons.

Give the witch doctor a second glance, study his background and you will see he is darker than that goth necro guy.

:agree:

WD is like a wilder, more sinister version of the Necromancer.

Plague, fire, insects, and disease is a lot more hardcore than clean shiny bones and poison. So I agree with the above two.

What's "dark and hardcore" seems to simply be a matter of your opinion, because I think the Witch Doctor is arguably darker. You don't have to be pale and emo to be a dark-themed character.

The Necromancers ability to poison, curse, control the dead, and use parts of the dead and their spirits to attack his enemy or even explode corpses in various ways is what got me. If you want we can twist words all day and I could say that the Witch Doctor is just some old African tribesman.. are you scared of Etheopians? Im not. Now im not saying I don't love the Witch Doctor, I do. Im just saying don't sit here and flame people off of pure bias. Many of you clearly left out many aspects that defined the Necro for what he was yet embelished the Witch Doctor. Now its my opinion the Necro was darker however Im glad hes not coming back and I feel the game is going in a nice direction, and is no less dark and evil at all. I mean we have seen one outside area and one dungeon. The dungeon looks just as dark and scary as Catacombs and the outside area looks just like Act 1. If anything it seems to be a more detailed and graphically enhanced version of Act 1. Also Bashiok has stated the game is going to get darker as you progress and im going to assume since they are not close to being done, what we have seen is an early part of the game and hence a less dark part of the game, infact more than likely the least dark part of the game.
