New Barbarian

Heya everyone, Im just in the process of creating a new barbarian, I want to make something a bit different, but one that can handle himself in Hell.

the options I am looking at are :

2 handed frenzy Barb
concentration Barb
Beserker Barb.

I dont want to go with WW as there are heaps of them out there.

I want something a bit rarer.. I guess the above builds could be as common as for all I know.

What would you guys reccomend for a a fun PvM barb?

Go with frenzy. The other two builds involve hitting one monster at a time bla bla bla. It gets tiresome. With Frenzy, you can attack and run like Speedy Gonzalez . Mix it up with Warcry a bit. Read the sticky! Ash Houseware's (however you spell his name) guide!

I never was a fan of click click click...

Hence I have 3 sorcs, just mass destruction everywhere.

Last time I played a barbarian was back in 1.08 when they were really crappy. WW isnt much fun, and I remember being really dissapointed with its damage.

Good choice

Congrats - you hav choosen the best and funnies PvM barb IMO.

A few tips;

Go for Atmas as amu. The % chanse to cast amp dmg works wonders for a really fast hitting frenzier, and amp works wonders - belive me - specially by leveling with "players 8".
Get chanse to cast static field on weapon for the same reason (shaeffers hammer (mace) or cresent moon runeword (sword)).
Go for a lot of IAS on your gear to be that fast hitting maniac you want to be.
Warcry rocks for frenziers - the monster just stand there - while you take them down.
Remember to get a supporting might merc for extra dmg.

They sound like they could give a Smite Paladin a run for their money!

That's precisely what frenzy is lacking, PvP ability you want stand a chance against most chars. But PvM im wise you would dare to say that a frenzy barb is more capable of handling himself than a WW.

I find having life tap even better then amp. I can sit in a group of monsters and smack away and I never die. I have about 3,600 life at lvl 84 and have never gone below half when completly surrounded.

Both amp and lifetap are great, it's a matter of taste.
I like them both.

Amp or Lifetap - It all depends on your build. My favourite build is the warcry frenzier (it's of course PvM). In this case Amp is the best choise IMO - you kill much faster and you never die (the monsters are stunned anyway). Go for atmas scarab. Drop the draculs gloves, and go for the good old Laying of Hands gloves (from the disiples set - 20% IAS and 350% dmg agains demons (=bosses)).
