New Avenger Build
Hey all, I'm new to these forums so I wanted to ask some questions about making a vengence paladin and see what everyone thought.
When I first made my pally, my thought was to make something that could solo hell...that could tank baals minions and that could help out younger characters and rush them through norm/nm/hell without me (or them) dying much.
That lead me to a look at a paladin...righteous, good, protectors and tanks. After looking at the skill trees, I saw two skills that I thought would be great for getting through hell. Vengence and Salvation.
With those two skills and the right gear and whatnot, I'd be able to have max resists in hell easily (as well as most of my party) and deal 4x the base damage of my weapon in 3 different elements.
Now after thinking about it a bit more...I was wondering if I could find a way to get 95 in all resists without having to have salvation up and then use either conviction or fanatacism as my primary aura.
Right now I've got a guardian angel, so I'm wondering what shield/other gear I could use to achieve max resists in hell. Specifically, if I found a sick 4 socket elite pally shield with +35 or +40 all resists and made an exile out of it, would the exile keep those resists?
I'm not super rich, but I've got a lvl 89 MF sorc and I can do pindle runs all day to get whatever items i might need for later on. But I'd like this pally to be my main character.
So what are your thoughts on salvation vs. conviction vs. fanatacism? Salvation is a vengence synergy, as well as giving insane resists...even 10 points in it would max most people out in hell. Conviction would exponentially increase my vengence damage, but then again this isn't an uber damage build as much as a tank type build. Even so, it'd really help out the sorcs and I'd be one-hitting most everything. Or Fanaticism.
Now with fanat, I don't know when/how vengence is applied with it...but if I was attacking 5x as fast, and my damage was increased by 2x or 3x with it...and then another 400% light/fire/cold, it would be some pretty sick damage I'd think.
Anyway, I'm kind of a big nub...only been playing for a few weeks, so if I have any misconceptions don't be bashful in pointing them out. Thanks for the info all!
