negative Magic Find?

My fury-wolf, named Woof, seems to have the worst luck. After battling my way through the hordes at Tal-Rasha's Tomb and slaying Duriel with my bare hands, I got.... a Scroll of Town Portal.

After beating my way through the jungles, through Hell, and through the mountains to Baal, and rupping his head off with my claws, I got.... squat. He died against the edge of the bridge, and apparently all of his treasure fell down the hole.

The second one, I can sort of understand (although the portal that forms from Tyrael actualy opened completely OFF the bridge, meaning I had to actually exit the game to get the ending sequence), but WHAT THE HELL happened with Duriel? Aren't act bosses guaranteed drops?

If you are using Maphack, there is a feature Show Hidden Items On/Off. The default is Off when you activate maphack. What this does is filter certain items such as low quality, ears, some magically enhanced items, etc. thereby in your case, making it seem that Duriel only dropped a scroll. If you use maphack, then all you have to do is press + on your numpad to take the filter off. But if you do not use Maphack, then this is purely bad luck, not negative MF :D.

Neither blizzard, these forums or DiabloII.net endorse or condone the use of MapHack.

EDIT: I think even talking about it can get you banned, but i'm not sure.

It gets referred to a lot in the dueling forums, but yeah, I've had that same drop from Duriel. It's pretty aggravating after all he puts you through. Eh.. at least you chose a good build for not hurting as bad as others without the godly items.

I think I was more annouyed with Baal's drop. They should have some sort of code that if Baal dies so close to the edge his drops vanish forever, they REAPPEAR a few feet away, on flat friggin ground. When I went back to kill him again, I didn't get boss quality drops, I got three magics. No yellow, gold, or green. Crap.

Heh, some of us have really tough luck with that stuff... that's why we got people running countless runs day in and day out...
If we all got godly drops on the first run, then there wouldn't be any "challenge" to the game.

Remember, blizzard didn't intend for us to run these bosses countless times so we could get godly items, they intended for us to beat these bosses once and use what we found at that time to progress through the game.
The only method for aquisition of godly items that blizzard intended for there to be is trading... which has always been screwed up.

EDIT: I'm just trying to give some insight as to the intentions of the creators... i, myself, am very guilty of doing countless runs to get good items ;)
