Need some Zergadin advice

I'm making a life replenish pally for fun, (I heard it called a Zergadin before, don't know if that's still used) and I'm not sure what skills to use other than prayer.

I wish I could max Zeal, Sacrifice, Holy Sheild, Defiance, and Blessed Aim along with prayer, but I can't. Will max Zeal give me enough AR if I don't have much from equipment or charms? What about max zeal and a Blessed Aim merc?

Oh, wow, where to begin.

First of all, you will want to use either Cleansing or Meditation as your aura (they get the passive healing from Prayer for no mana cost), and get a Prayer merc to stack with it. Prayer will stack with your Cleansing/Meditation.

As for other skills, you can pretty much do whatever you want. But I can tell you basing your build on life regeneration is one of the most newbish things I've ever heard.

But if you're bent on doing it, you should look at the synergies. For Prayer, you've got Holy Bolt, in which case you would be making a conventional Cleric. For Cleansing, you've got Sanctuary, if you wanted to do some kind of Undead whacker.

Beyond that, I don't know what to tell ya.

BTW, I've never even heard the term "Zergadin" used before and I've been playing D2 since it came out. A Google search for "zergadin" returns zero results. You wouldn't have just made that up, would you?

"Max zeal and a blessed aim merc"??? What are you smoking? Seriously.

I have been playing D2 for 4 years as well, and am tired of making easy character builds. I heard someone else on the forum refer to their life replenish pally as a zergadin (zerg are a class in Starcraft that regain life). I am not interested in making a cleric, if I was I wouldn't be using melee skills. I am concerned about how much AR I need to have a decent chance to hit things in hell, and what skills I may have to use to accomplish that. And yes, I am using cleansing as my active aura, I didn't think it was neccesary to mention it.

Please don't assume everyone trying a different kind of build is new.

Ok here's some builds you could try:
- Max smite/holyshield/prayer and use meditation. Then you don't need mana leech or AR.
- Max zeal/holyshield/prayer/sacrifice/blessedaim and use cleansing.

I like that you're going for a different build, but it's going to be pretty hard using meditation or cleansing as your active aura. Your melee attacks are really going to suffer from not having a coinciding aura to go along with it. A good build that would work would be a Hammerdin without the conc, but since you're intent on melee skills, good luck man!

i like the idea its kinda the same as my cleric/vindictor for team vs team duels, i jsut switch to meditation/cleansing depending on the chars we're dueling etc. i would suggest smite if your planning on meleeing it helps alot as you dont need AR etc and you can then just put a fleshripper on with gores and mayb a guillems and let the OW/CB/DS make up for the lower dmg from not having fana.
if you follow this route you can then also make yourself into a fairly effective tank as you'll have max holy shield for smite dmg the extra points can jsut be added to defiance so you'll be a nice healing tank.
have fun

Ok well that build sounds very intresting, im not sure if any synergies for clensing would be worthwhile but smite/cleansing would work very nice. by level 74 u can max
Cleansing
Smite
Holy Shield
Fant

i think that would work pretty well....

better yet go with what raphiel said drop fant and use defiance for even more defence.

bit OT but...atm i love this forum ppl keep agreeing with me
yeh defiance or one of the healing auras is what i tend t use in pvp when with a team does help alot against most of the builds out there. the extra points that you get could go into salvation to make you even more party friendly. If you plan on pvp thats what i'd suggest as holy bolt healing isnt usually aloud but if your pvm then go for holy bolt and one of its synergies to make you a great undead killer, people will really love you in the chaos sanctuary and WSK when the oblivions + gloams spawn :D

why not shoot for some absorb too? thta could be fun, the absorb and replenish life could very well make you invincible as a tank. either way i would suggest that you get a weapon that has a chance to cast static field. fleshripper is a good option as well but using zeal i'm thinking that a fast weapon with static field might be a little better.

Here's how I'd do it:

Max: Zeal
Max: Sacrifice
Max: Prayer
Max: Holy Shield
Rest: Defiance or Blessed Aim (I prefer Defiance myself.)

Could go with a beast berserker axe, or caddy (caddy would be awesome) to make it easier to get 4fpa zeal.
