Need some pointers for my Bowazon.

Hello! I'm a newbie to the world of the Amazon, so I apologize for my lack of knowledge. If anyone can help me it would be most appreciated.

I built my first PvP Amazon recently. My idea was to make her bow oriented but have javelins/shield on switch--for two reasons. One, to have as protection when in motion, and two, to use poison type javelin skills on my opponents.

Anyway I'm looking at her now at it seems her bow damage is just abysmal and her life is still very low. I understand it can be tough balancing dex/vit, but I didn't want a "glass cannon" approach. Here's my equipment:

Helm: 30/80 Giant Skull
Amulet: Cat's Eye
Armor: Fortitude
Weapon: Matriarchal Faith
Weapon: Titan's/Storm Shield
Rings: Raven Frosts
Belt: Verdungo's
Gloves: ??? (have Dracul's slapped in there)
Boots: ??? (have Goreriders slapped in there)

I forget the numbers, but my Dex is in the 230ish range and I have about 900 Life. (level 76)

I do a measly 2,700 in Guided Arrow damage. I notice some Amazons do as much as 7,000. Does having all those charms in your inventory really help that much? Or is it because I'm using a Mat. Faith? What gloves and boots should I wear? Also, what should I socket my Storm Shield with? I just feel like I'm MISSING something.

Thank you for responding to my query. However I would like to point out that the guides are where I started on my Amazon adventure. I am now at the point where I'm past the guides and seeking first-hand help.

I pretty much followed Tienje's hybrid guide, except I maxed poison javelin skills instead of putting points into the lightning ones. At this point I'm wondering why my Amazon seems lacking...

Krilley i have the exact same problem. My gear setup looks like yours, and im also bow/jav hybrid. I damage 4.7k but a friend of mine damages 6.9k ?

How come?

max damage charms (and similarly war travs, they'd boost your on screen damage quite a bit) do make a big difference, particularly with high dex and off weapon ed. Ideally you'd probably want 2 p+m 20 IAS crafted hit power gloves so you can switch helms without losing kb, but iirc that stuff's covered in tienje's guide.

Agree with phool.

It's all about the charms.

Look in one of those guy's backpacks with 6000+ max damage and you will see a TON of max damage charms.
