Need some help (tech support)

    Need some help (tech support)

    sorry if this is the wrong forum, but i couldn't find a tech support one.

    Diablo takes about 10-20minutes to load up on my screen.
    But when i can finaly play diablo it says..
    Can not connect to battle.net.. go on to battle.net forums.

    I tryed going on battle.net forums but i cant figure out hwo to register on them, so i am hoping someone here is willing to me out.

    Can someone help me?

    Okay do you mean that d2 takes that long to open up or is it simply taking that long to connect to battle.net? If it is taking that long to connect then the servers are probably busy or there is a lot of internet traffic on your end. I'm sure there are links that you can use to check the status of the servers do a google search for them. I do not know of them, I use single player if I play.

    If d2 is taking that long to load then please list your OS and what your hardware is. D2 should not tax most modern PCs unless you are running a newer OS in which case there might be some compatibility issues. I run D2 just fine in windowed mode in windows 7. Good luck.

    I had the slow load problem when I restarted playing. It took ~10 mins to start D2. A simple reinstall solved it

    Are you using antivirus software? That could explain the slow startup (and its firewall might be blocking your ability to connect out to battle.net until D2 is authorised in that software).

    Another possibility is that your hard drive is extremely fragmented. I've seen copies of d2 take a long time to load when one of the important MPQs is spread across 30k fragments.

    I think your firewall is blocking it's internet access. If you have program like ZoneAlarm running. Make sure it allow Diablo II.exe and Game.exe have full access to the internet.

    On many computers, the aero Windows style prevents the game from functioning properly in full screen mode. Switch it off and see if it works then.
