    need some answers

I have heard mixed answers on this issue and need to know definatively what is correct.

IF you Merc is wearing Items that give - Enemy resistence eg. Cresecent moon weapon, Doom Weapon or any FAcet. Does the lowering of resistance affect your attacks or your party's?

I would think that because it states ENEMY resistence and not TARGET Resistence that it would be global...just like a Necro's Lower resistence curse.

If anyone can give some support for their answer it would be greatly appreciated.

From what i have read in other threads the answer is no. It will only effect your mercs attacks. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    What they said.

Reasoning: equipping such items on a Trap-based Assassin will do nothing to reduce enemy resists. Why? Traps are counted as minions, thus the -resist effect doesn't transfer to them.

Of course a Lightning Sorc could get some good usage out of a Crescent Moon...

I would think that the subtraction to enemy resists would affect the mercenary's attack only.

doesnt anyone have a definative answer?

all logic sounds good...but nothing definative.

the problem being that these items just specify Enemy Resistance..It does not say Target's Resistance.....Think of some items that say "Target Defense"...they dont say Enemy.

To me Enemy sounds like a global effect and Target sounds like....well a ttarget effect.

a necro's lower resist curse affects everyone attacking that enemy.

There must be a definative answer!!!!!!

Well, it works the way it's already been stated... can't give you any better examples really, but it's the way it is. Unless Blizzard decide to change it without telling anyone :)
