Need some advice on this situation

Dont really know if this is the right place to post this, so move it if u want to.

So i've auctioned off this craft pack, and went to a private game to trade it with mrpredator.
After that i dropped everything, he asked me to stay afk in the game so he could craft.
But after a few minutes the game crashed and we both got disconnected,
So i lost all craft packs, and he also lost 2 ists.
I know its not the fault of any of us, but what would be the best thing we could do right now?

    Thanks

Were those 2 ists your payment for the craft packs ?
I mean, did you get a payment for items ?
If MrPredator dropped 2 ists as payment, you should have picked them right away.

After two sides dropped item/payment on the ground, I think it's their responsibility to pick up what belongs to them now. If one of them wants to craft and wants to leave things on the ground, it's his/her risk to take..

Because we all know.. games crash.

Re: Need some advice on this situation

Do you know that he lost these things, or is that what he told you? How well can you trust this person?

The reason I say this is because the game-crash sounds suspicious. If you didn't know, it's possible for scammers to make the game crash on you and take your items. Saying that he lost items too is a good way to keep you from suspecting him.

This sounds suspicious, as well. How big was your payment supposed to be? Claiming that "the rest of the payment is on my other character" is something that I've known scammers to do, as well. You should not drop your items unless you know the other player has the full payment with them.

If this person was scamming you, which I'm not saying he did (though the situation does look suspicious), there isn't much you can do about it. What you can do is be more careful. Don't do drop trades unless you're sure you can trust the other player. Be wary of other players that claim they have the payment, but not with them.

Re: Need some advice on this situation

This seems to have happened in an ETF trade (which I overlooked, I admit). He seems to be rather new here, but not that new, so it's a bit improbable that he scammed you in a trade about 2 Ist runes. He already made a few trades which were about much more than that.

As long as there's no substantial proof, it's better not to accuse him of scamming. I don't know what happened and it could as well have been you (you are rather new as well) and you might just have posted this to anticipate him accusing you of the same, in theory.

Anyway, when dealing with people you don't know, it's better to use the trading screen which kind of seals the exchange. If the crash occurs then, you either have the items you were about to give or you have his runes.

we kept talking to each other about what to do after this,
and he came up with the idea for me to ask advice on the forum,
so he is aware that i'm posting this,

i'm not calling him a scammer or anything,
he even offered me 2 ists for my loss.
but that wouldn't be fair for him imo.

You collected all these craft packs, kept them at your mule, than they're lost because buyer wanted to keep them on the ground while crafting...

This lost is not related with you.

And if i'm not wrong, you're payed 2 ist (half of the payment), and buyer hasn't payed other 2 ists because he lost the items. (i understand he offered 2 ists for your loss, kind person) But i think he/she should make the other half of the payment

These speculations lead to no good, isn't that obvious?

Nobody of you knows what would have happened, so why are you discrediting others with your suspicions?

Damn, I should have kept the thread in the ETF and closed it...

It's always one person's word against another's and screenshots can be faked and whatnot.
Anything important that could have been said... pretty much has been said.

So before the mule gets beaten to death, I'm going to put a stop to it.

    Thanks for understanding folks.
