Need party pally

Need party pally

My party wants a pally that uses fanatacism or concentration, they are both summoner necros. I realize hammer is a good choice here, but i hate hammer pallys, and would like to avoid zealot. I would like to try a ranger or charger type thing. Anybody have any suggestions for a "non-standard" kind of pally?

on my acct i have six paladins. They're pretty much all i play and thusly, i love necros. I have been playing mostly defensive party pallys lately and they're a blast. If ya find one of these to party with you'll not only get the great def/res boost but you can switch your hireling to be something more usefull than defiance such as holy freeze. If you have a fire golem, hell ya got two different elemental auras, well gaurded summons, and well, a paladin that can tank for any of them.

I would think that a convictionator (avenger) would work well for the skele mages, but I may be wrong...

This is what i'm thinking, a build that can do some damage to higher diff monsters, and using fanatacism or conccentration to help the skellies and revives. So far, i'm looking at a charger, since rangers use holy shock and/or frost. U know, use a 2hand weapon to dispatch the big guys while the skellies hold back the masses. Seems to me that concentration is the better choice here since charge basically ignores attack speed. Also, i have a question regarding charge and aura damage stacking. Can anybody give me a formula to find what my damage stacking concentration and charge, none of the numbers i run turn out right.

use a skill calculator for best results on figuring out numbers... if you dont know of one, PM me and ill give you the link to one.

I wouldnt use charge though... charge is really buggy... you can get stuck [happens a LOT] and you can have your charge break, meaning you will have to exit and rejoin your game for it to work. Also conc is Not the answer. Conc doesnt give the AR bonuses that fanat does. If you are partying with summoner necs, they are going to want fanat for ias, ar, and dmg. Also - if you charge around a lot you will be too far away to give them the aura. I know you said you didnt want one, but your best choice is a fanatic zealot. You can stand in with all those summoners and hack away - giving them your aura bonus.

This has nothing to do with the topic but you can break the "Charge" bug by just pressing the secondary stuff button, no need to leave the game ;)

You could try Fist of the Heavens. Since you aren't going to use it much, it's a great 'big guns' attack to aid the skeletons against tougher monsters.

You could try a build which goes:

FOH (attack)
Fanatacism (helps skeletons)
Conviction (helps skeletons a little, and helps FOH a lot. Also would help you necromancer's poison skills/mages)
Holy Shock (to synergize FOH).
+1 to meditation.

Although, I can't help but think that conversion would be a lot of fun to use when fighting weaker monsters. Instead of just standing around giving off your aura, you could add to your horde. ^^

The reason I think FOH might be a good choice, is because you'll be playing rather defensively behind the skeletons most of the time I think. So, you have a chance to concentrate on mana and life instead of dexterity or strength.

Conviction doesn't help the necros poison skills though, because it only lowers li, fi and cold resists (and defense of course).

I'd say a hammerdin or avenger. Avengers help their party hit, hammerdins make them deal lots of damage. Your choice. Although I've never played an avenger since 1.09...

Or any melee char since 1.09. Hell way too difficult and Melee items are uber expensive.
