WW is the easiest IAS related attack to calculate.

Base weapon Speed does matter for WW.

2 things are important... The Weapon's Base Speed. And the IAS on the weapon.

To find a weapon's base speed, look here: http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/weaponsandarmor.shtml#elite

To find the IAS on the weapon... Look there.

To calculate a WW bp, you take the base speed and substract all IAS found on the weapon.

For example: Berzerker Axe with 30%Ias.

Using the Link, we see the Berzerker axe has a base speed of 0.

    So the formula is: 0 - 30 = -30

The breakpoints for 1 handed weapons(and All swords) are -10 and -35. So the Berserker axe with 30% IAS reaches the first, but not the second.

For 2 handed weapons (all but swords), the bps are -10, -30 and -60

I have two questions for ww

1.) Besides the built-in IAS in the weapon (e.g. IK maul 40%), what about the set bonus from the glove (25% IAS). The IAS from glove would not benefit WW?

2.) Let's say you wield a shield and you are in running mode - you right click to WW a monster, what is your chance to block? 75% or 1/3 of that?

    Thanks!

Snarlin, I'm sorry but I've looked around and I can't say... You'll have to ask the Sin Forum. (You may also ask how BoS affects this too)

    1. Only IAS on the weapon counts. IAS from the gloves means nothing... even if it's a Set bonus.

    2. 75%. It's as if you stopped running to attack.

actually i found the thread that you were in as well, about the ww bps.

but, according to the german calculator, 59% is my last bp considering base weapon speed from ogre axe(10). 30% given with bonehew + 20% shael + 15% ias jewel = 65%

so i really want to know what is the TRUE base speed for all the weapons. and does it make sense that base speed is 10 and it is described as "slow" ??

*edit* while the C.Voulge and the ogre axe both has 10 base speed accordign to bnet, the calculator gave different results (meaning their base speed are different) WTF???

Base Speed of Ogre Axe is 0.

Making me incorrect in my last post.

(The Normal and exceptional versions have 10)

That was one error I noticed long ago, but it slipped my mind. B.Net is correct with everything else.

Base Speed of 10 on a Polearm Is slow.
    [10]
    Druid - Fast
    Necro, Sorc - Normal
Ama, Asn, Barb, Pally - Slow

    [0]
    Druid, Sorc - Fast
Asn, Barb, Necro, Pally - Normal
    Ama - Slow

but those descriptors really don't mean much.
