Need input on idea: Paladin using IK armor
I decided that in Ladder season 5 I will do the minimum of MFing and I will not build any cookie-cutter builds (except for my MF sorc and necro). Instead I will try to make original builds with low/middle-end gear.
My idea: a Paladin wearing IK gear; the maul, gloves, belt and boots. I've used this combo as a Druid and Barb, (both are quite common), but I want to do it with a Pally. It will be a Zealot / Charger hybrid. This seems to be the logical choice, even though I’ve never made a PvM Charger (that's part of the challenge), or in fact any Paladin without shield (except a ranger I made in Classic ages ago).
Skill setup:
20 Zeal
20 Fanaticism or Conviction
20 Charge
20 Vigor (Charge synergy)
Rest Sacrifice (Zeal Synergy)
Stats:
Str: enough for IK Maul
Dex: Base
En: Base
Vit: Rest
Equipment:
Helm: Guillaumes/Um or Rockstopper/Um
Armor: Shaftstop/Um or Duress
Weapon: IK/2xShael
Belt: IK
Boots: IK
Gloves: IK
Rings: Dual ravens
Amu: Highlords or Metalgrid
Inventory: Charms to fill up gaps (FHR, resists, …)
I still need to calculate breakpoints etc.
I can use any input, but especially:
- Any other suggestions instead of Zealot / Charger?
- Conviction or Fanaticism? The IK combo has a lot of elemental dmg
- A charger in PvM – feasible?
- Any equipment tips? I’ve stuck with standard stuff but am open to suggestions.
