Need imput on Orb/Nova MF build.

I'm making my first character on ladder x-pac. I was wondering what people thought of the idea on this build... I've played Diablo II classic with sorceresses and I loved having my old MF sorc, it made getting items for my other characters much eaiser. Does anyone have any suggestions about this build?

Well, to tell you the truth, nova isn't really the best spell to use these days. It's due to the fact that it does not have a synergy, and since the HP of the monsters has been doubled. It's become really obselete.

Well, I've only put 1 point into it so far, I'm lvl 21 and I have 1 point in everything up to GS in the cold tree and Nova and TK. 15 into warmth, so if any of you have an idea on what to build from here, let me know.

wow, you way over-pointed warmth. Warmth is a 1 point skill unless your making an enchantress. I'd say honestly, you've got points all over the place. You could salvage things as an enchantress, use enchant, warmth, perhaps frozen armor, and maybe frozen orb since 20 orb, 17 cold mastery does the orb good.

Nova/Orb for Diablo 2 1.10:

20 Nova
20 Thunderstorm
20 Lightning Mastery

20 Frozen Orb
1-xx Cold Mastery

1 Warmth
1 Static Field
1 Telekinesis
1 Teleport

rest for prerequisites

Nova and TS go not too bad with each other, but expect that you will still need some high amount of +skills for it to be effective.

You have WAY too much warmth. Even for Nova you should compensate by adding lots of mana. Also remember, in 1.10 you can buy mana potions. So no man problems anymore in that sense. 1 Warmth is really enough.

nova can be a quick killer for chars with very low res or life, with high fcr, it goes fast enough that the opposition has to time to escape a stun lock even with high fhr.

Again, it might be possible to pull it off, but really nova isn't the spell to use these days and will cause you a lot of trouble (stand so close to cast ..ehhh)

I have a level 89 nova sorc that I use for the pits and countess runs. She is not so great on Baal runs but holds her own on Diablo runs. The range of nova is not great but it's not so terrible either. She wears wizspike, shako, lidless wall, skin of the vipermagi, waterwalks, Tal's belt and Tal's ammy, ravenfrost, rare ring, and magefist. This gives me 29 level nova with the help of 2 gc's. She has 120 fcr which was the key to making her fun to play. I put a lot of points in Dex so even with Lidless I have 50% blocking; 900 life, 1100 mana. I only have 150% MF but I switch to Ali Baba and Rhyme before Bosses die for more. Against bosses she has to use frozen orb. I put 20 points in warmth because I followed a 1.09 guide; 20 is problably too much but I'm not sure I would go with only 1 point in warmth. I have 1 in TS and 1 in ES. I got ES at level 89 and it has made the Pit runs much easier. I believed everyone who said ES was a total waste but then decided what the heck and found out they were wrong. Less life lost is still less life lost.
