Need advice on how not to get "trade hacked" (found a jah rune)

So something crazy happened this morning. Colenzo dropped a jah rune in a run and I got it. Funny considering I have to open inventory to pick things up. Anyway, after peeing myself and screaming in delight, I decided I want to trade it for ber (ber and ist is what I am trying for) so I can make a COH. Well, people tell me to watch for trade hackers. Known people who "trade hack" are all over me. How do I avoid this? What is it? All details are greatly appreciated. I never had a godly enough item to have to worrry about this stuff...

there is no such thing as a trade hack

1 thing dont trade for annis (telepick u drop your item there lvl 1 tele to you and picks it up before u can pick it up again)

and always check the other guys item before u push accept cause he could of switched it

other then that you should be fine

oh yea dont trade with a guy called crelusion he will steal your jah rune :innocent:

Anyways, Trade Hack is a thing of the past. It basicly sent a packet that said that you clicked accept. It's gone now.
Just do what Cre said and it'll be fine.

Your best bet is to use the trade forums here, rather than the b.net trade channels. Waaaaaaaay more idiots/scammers/lamers in the trade channels.

People have told me that some hackers will dupe a rune that will disappear real quickly from BNET detection but they can use it just to trade and then screw you over. They said to make him pick up and replace the rune many times to check it...

You can't always trust the trade forums either, I had an anni stolen by a supposedly trustworthy (now ex) gat member.

yeah he's right though, the channel has a few scammers who sit in there like hawks and try to mess with you and tell you your deals suck etc etc when you know they don't. And people who get you into games to try and haggle instead of deal. Wellokay i've found trades in there but...

So I do have a thread up here. I had people all over me trying to screw with me whenI spammed channel though. And that guy hc.pat

If I were you, I would guard that Jah with my life. Do you know how many legit Jahs exist, especially on hc where bots don't farm pindle as much? Yeah, you can probably count them on your fingers.

I don't want enigma at all... I will wait til I find the right person to trade with though.... don't worry about that. I need the COH basically and I'm done with runes.

I think there used to be one that would put an "image" of the item onto the trade screen (not the real thing), but they weren't able to move it around at all or it wouldn't work. So if you're trading just make sure they move the rune(s) or item(s) around a few times :p (althought I think the one that im talking about is long gone)
