need advice on how to reestablish connection between router and laptop
I have two computers (PC & laptop); wireless router sends to laptop. I recently moved my PC to my room (drilled new line via basement to room for cable -> cable via router). Modem and router were left in original room, no need to move.
Person that had helped me had left power strip off (the one in original room with modem and router plugged to it) and I didn't notice at first (this strip has no lights on it, and it simply didn't come to mind). Turned the strip on, couple lights on modem still weren't blinking (the ones that really matter), so I pressed standby button and they came on; checked Net on comps, still no Net.
I then unplugged / plugged cable to tower / slot 1 on router back in (was my understanding that this can fix under some circumstances) and lo and behold I got Net back, BUT ONLY on my PC.
Thus, the question is, how to restore Net on laptop. Note: all lights on router and modem that should be on are on. I'm sure this is simple but it's just one of those things; if any of you can give me the solution it'd be much appreciated. Thanks.
