Need a little help I bought dIIex for my son and he/I cannot create a "Non ladder" character to play with my character LVL13 PAL. WHY? I select "Non-ladder" character in creation of his game, but it always restores to a ladder character. Did I miss something along the way here? Dave
Well, when making a char, you have 3 boxes.(After you beat the game once... 2 if you haven't) Expansion Ladder Character and the extra is hardcore. Just Check the Expansion. Don't have a Check with Ladder Character. (I just say this because it says only "Ladder Character" and not "Non-ladder character", like you said.) I don't see or know of anything else that could cause that...

I created a new character (non-ladder) with my login, and had hin try to do the same as a "non-ladder", and his account always returns as a Ladder character. Dave
I am confused... Do the non-ladder characters you create turn into ladder characters with absolutely no human interferance?
After they are created as non-ladder can human interferance even change them to ladder, without totally deleting the character first.
I'm sorry Dmcw3... I have no idea what's going on there. One thing you could do is log on to B.net with one of the accounts and go to the Tech Support Channel. They may have some experience with that... If you make sure the "Ladder Character" box is NOT checked, it Should make a Normal Character. I don't know why it shouldn't... so first step to find out would be that channel. Beating the game with 1 account Really shouldn't make a difference. Well, a lvl13 Pally isn't too bad to rebuild On-Ladder if you wanted too... If you're on USEast I'd be willing to give you guys some items. PM me if you are. Vlad, he's trying to make Non-Ladder chars, but it seems no matter what he does, the char defaults to Ladder immediately.
The ladder selection is the default setting, or so it seems for me. I have to un-select ladder each time when creating a new character.
