Necromancer - I cant kill diablo >_O

Ok well, i tried to anyway, I was going as a summoner , so i had like:

bone armor: 1
skellys: uh round 15 or so
skellys mastery: like 5
summon resist: 2
amp damage: 1
golem: 1

something like that

I invested like 60 points in energy, mmm like 80-100 in str, andddd rest in vitality.

So i got to diablo, soloing cuz i dont trust anyone lol, Andd he blows all my skellys up in like 2 of that area effect fire spell. oh and i died...and i just found a gull =P. fun fun

To make a long question shorter:

What do i do to beat him? Am i gonna have to build differntly? Orrrrr perhaps level up to level 40 in arcane sanc >_O?

i dont see any in decrepify ><

seriously, 1 pt in decrepify is a must. with it + clay golem, an untwinked nec should be able to finish diablo in arounr 3-4 army resummons (single player setting)

other than that, the build looks good

Teleport staff is also quite handy... ensures your skels are all where they can hit him without dying before getting to him. Can shop it in A3 for sure, maybe A2 but I'm not positive about that.

I had this exact same problem the other day. Been gone form d2 for a while and started back. First char was a shocker... used bow to get diablo down to almost nothing and out of nowhere red lightning(thought i was out of range)... dead.

Second was a summoner with pretty much the same build cept 1 in amp and 1 in ce... laged when d spawnd(got close so my minions would hit)... red lightning... dead.

/Crys self to sleep. Thinking of making a avenger or a holy fire(yuck) pally just for revenge. Decrep is a good idea.. and i didnt have summon resist yet.. was lvl 23 soloed there. I think my next stab at it will be an bow enchantress if i can bring myself to do it again.

Too bad no one is trustworthy(it seems) on bnet:/

Most summon necros have normal diablo as a problem. One should really use clay golem + deceprify for Big D :D Also a good tactic i find is to circle around him and recast clay in front of Diablo while you, merc and skellies are behind smacking him :p A +3 bone spear wand/necro head also helps whittling away at his life and pepper the place with blues. Also those pit lords make great revives to tank diablo s they have high fire resists even in normal and those 'fire snakes' aren't hurting them - hence i open the seals with the Infector Of Souls last and revive as many of em hehe. A prayer merc with sigon's helm+armor gives 10%leech and lightning resists which could help his survivability in this battle. A cheap way to get decent fire resists would be nokozan relic ammy :D Also did u invest a point into golem mastery? 80-100 str is a bit high at that lvl and 60-80 is mostly a necro's endgame str if he is not going with enigma but a uniqs/trang set up.

First thing that I noticed was this part

"something like that

I invested like 60 points in energy, mmm like 80-100 in str, andddd rest in vitality"

A necro doesnt need that much str ever much less by normal diablo. Level 24 - 30 is all you need to kill him. And yes make sure you have decrep and clay golem. Not sure if you are tweaking or not but there are some decent low level polearms with slow on them to help out as well.

All the advice given here is correct. Nevertheless I had to rebuild my army a couple of times before Big D fell. Not a big deal set up safe tp, wp back to Act 1, quickly rebuild and go at it.

I know this has been said a million times before, but I'll repeat it since I keep seeing people do this. ENERGY = BAAADDD!!!

Seriously folks, leave energy base. For any build. Period. Use blues and + mana stuff for your lower lvls, you're wasting those points to make it easier early on and harder later on, which is NOT the way you want to do it.

And don't come whining to me about 95% es sorcs, bc how many of those do you see anyway? And who would make on in hc and risk a mana burn guy? Exactly.

Again... classic.
- no mana charms
- no 100+ mana rings
- no shako
- no wizzy
- can't easily socket your armour/helm with saphires
- monsters do less damage there anyways

Don't get me wrong, I played a classic necro to almost-King with base energy, but it IS a different game there.

1 Decrep
1 Bone Spear (I max this on my Classic Minion Necros)
1 bone armor
(x) in bone wall (points in wall improve armor and spear)

NO ENERGY
No more than 30 Str for Breastplate and Round Shield (3) sockets
ALL VITA

(2) columns of red/juvs and (2) Blues.....when blues deplete, retreat and reload and go to town if needed.

(1) TP in one of the (3) Elbows of CS, he cannot travel down those elbows so you can exit and enter safely so you can get more pots or minions if you want.

Gems.......2-3 sock helms and Saphires
Shield Rubys, Topaz, Diamonds whatever it takes to max Fire and Light, even go as far as to purchase a set of glooves or boots just to get you set for Diablo and sell em later.

There are Energy Wands that can be bought in Act (2)

Basically after popin the last seal and killing those guys max out your skellys and pop up a TP <--------- most important part!

Go to edge of Elbow and toss out a Bonewall to draw him to you.

Hope Golem and Skellies get in a few licks but get him Decreped ASAP and keep him that way.

Spear, spear, spear, Decrep <---rinse and repeat

Return to town Via TP as needed for pots.

If you do it right you can virtually make it impossible for him to kill you but you can pelt him until dead.

I also suggest less skellys that are stronger 5-6 is plenty but bring up the mastery similar to the skellys level.

Some guy on the gwonline.net community forum said that you were close to fully unlocking a gw account (for skills/runes anyways), how's that going?
