Hi everyone, I've been away from the game for some time and thought I would get back into it since I still have all my characters active. I thought there would be no better way to restart then with my favorite char, the skele summoner. However I had been looking at a build before I quit that incorporates poison and I am going to give this a try.

Skills:
20 Summon Skeleton
20 Skeleton Mastery
20 Poison Nova
20 Poison Explosion or Dagger
1 Corpse Explosion, Decrepify and below, Bone Prison and below, Revive and Summon Resist and Below
Rest in either Corpse Explosion or Poison Nova Synergy

Equip:
Circ or Shako
Enigma
Homunculus
Mara's or Rare
Arach
Trang Claws
Marrow Walk
SoJ

Torch/Anni/Skill Charms

As you can see I left open a Ring, my main weapon, and a weapon switch.
My merc will be Infinity/Fortitude and a helm (not sure which)

Current wep options are:
Beast (considering this as an Iron Golem item as well, does the base item affect the golem outcome? would the Golem be too weak to be useful/survive with only 1 pt and 1 pt mastery even with + skills?)
Arm of King Leoric
Death's Web
Heart of the Oak

The ring is my concern due to FCR, Id like the 8x BP (is it 86%?) With a Circlet (I'm sure this will be the rout I go) I will have 60% pre jewlery. I also considered using Wisp Projector for the HoW summoning, but sort of ruled that out.

Would Call to Arms be a worthwhile switch for such a character? It would really benefit my Mercenary whom is key to the build. If not what should I put on it? I personally think CTA would be worth while for the additional skill as well, but is there a better option?

For grand charms I'm also not sure what my spread should be between poison and summoning. I was hoping to have the skills for 16-17 skeles and 4k Pnova dmg pre trang%. This I believe was 4 PnB GCs and 5 Summon GCs.

My final question, I heard that Conviction (in this case from mercenaries Infinity) does not effect enemy poison resists. Is this true? Would this make it beneficial to get points all the way up to Lower Resist (which I have already been considering) that would only take 3 skill points and seems worth it to me, especially if Conviction is ineffective.

IMO, if you have good gear, might as well skim on the skeles (use 20/1) and go full poison. There is a guide in the stickies for that.

Yes, conviction does not lower poison resist, so getting lower resist is important.

For weapon I would say dweb if you are heavy on poison. Otherwise, just gear him up like a summoner (since the poison won't do nearly as much as skeles if the poison is light).

And, drop the humon/arach and go 3 piece of trang if you are to go poison at all.

I have a poison/summon. Put one in skellie mastery and max raise skeleton, this is important because it will get your skellies the best life and damage. The skellies will make lvling easier too as your poison starts out pretty weak.

Max poison skills next. Do not put more than 5 points in lower resist as it has deninishing returns.

Anime craze is right about the trangs. The -25 enemy poison resist from the three piece trangs will do far more damage than the extra skills from homonc. You will notice this all of the time, but you will notice it ALOT against monsters with broken immunity.

I like the Trangs idea, but also Homun gives a solid boost to summons, resistances, and blocking. Trangs would also then effect my FCR effecting Tele and CE when I use it. I'll prolly get both and test accordingly :laugh: I was reading into IAS BPs for mercs and was thinking of a helm for him, but still may go with Guills. Personally, I'm leanin toward AoKL with a Beast IG with the trang set up. This seems like it would be quite balanced, or leaning a little toward summons which is how I'd prefer. Thanks for your help guys

If using Poison or Poison/Summons, I'd go 3-piece Trang's definitely (plus Death Web). Poison Nova kills much faster than the skellies do. I have a full Trang Poison/Summoner right now, about level 77, who has a -5% poison facet in the shield. The -30% poison resist and 25% more poison damage bonus from the set helps out a lot. Poison does start out slow, but ramps up quickly with more points and -% poison resist working for you. Poison Nova's not something you need to spam like crazy.

Use AOKL and Homoculous as your switch weapon to raise your skellies. Those with a 3 to summon ammy will give you +10 to summon skellies, then switch to 3-piece trand plus dweb to fight.

These all sounds pretty good so far, just the issue of FCR/slow tele. Is it worth my mobility taking a hit for the better dmg/-ER%?

On switch, I'd recommend AoKL + "Spirit" Monarch, since you're using "Enigma." Use that combo when you want to teleport. Then switch back to power/adventure gear to kill stuff. This way, you make no sacrifices.

I didn't want to give up skill points for trangs either, but the difference that -resists make for killing speed is more than I could have realized. I agree with some of the above posts, put your prebuffs and FCR on switch and use dweb and trangs when casting nova.

This will let me have quite effective poison for not having all synergies. Also, maximum effect from my skeles. I can still teleport with switch due to spirit so I think this is the set up for me. Not really sure on small charms. Mana im sure.

Skills are:
20 Raise Skeleton
20 Skeleton Mastery
20 Poison Nova
20 Poison Dagger
1 All Curses
1 Corpse Explosion, Revive, Summon Resist, Bone Prison, Raise Skeletal Mage
1 Pre Requisites

This puts me at level 93. I don't really need to plan much beyond this point but because I'm not for sure I do want to get all the curses, which skill deserves the remaining points? Corpse Explosion for radius, Poison Explosion for Poison Nova synergie, or Raise Skeletal Mage to be able to summon 1-2 more mages that are somewhat more powerful?

This is the build Im making and experimenting with right now. I still don´t know if I want to play as a poisoner with summons or a summoner with poison. IMO it makes a lot of difference.

My gear right now:

My merc uses

My skills points look like this:
20 raise skel
20 skel mastery
1 clay golem
1 g mastery
1 summon res
1 all curses, not the ones on the left side
1 skel magi
1 corpse
20 poison nova
20 poison expl
1 poison dagger

I will probably remake him when I get enigma. But where to put points? Should I go for 1 in revives? Or just pump poison dagger? I find revives useless w/o engima because they get lost all the time and act really retarded.

I want a char that can tele and kill both bosses and places like the Pit with relative ease. Im wondering if I should try stacking some auras by having Beast instead and equipping Pride (when I get really really rich) on my Merc. Maybe I should put Guillames Face on the merc to make him a "bosskiller". I also feel Cta is really useful to pump the skellies even more.
Any suggestions? Feel free to bombard me!
