People kill people everyday. Why care? I don't.

How about Blizzard gives everyone 500 Sojs... that way everyone has some nice duped Soj's... who cares about the economy. I don't want to see dupes in guides because then people strive to acquire those items. They fuel dupers.

it's taking an argument and amplifying it to an absurd level, to compare playing a computer game to ordered suicide or assuming that if one item is duped then all items are duped

and since you are taking the anti-dupe stance I am confused as to why you're taking the pro-dupe's standard argument that anything could be duped

I misinterpreted nothing, if you want to abandon the statement that every item is a potential dupe because it is detrimental to our desire to ban dupes then that is fine

The statement was not mine originally. I will however abandon nothing. Everything is 'POTENTIALLY' a dupe, althought unlikely. I do believe that this thread has outlived itself.

As a side note: Ash, I think you have a problem with me, whether you'll openly admit to it. I'll admit that I have a problem with you now. Perhaps we can continue this through PM's.

the problem with arguing that everything is a dupe is that if you assume everything is a dupe you can't ban everything, you MUST ban nothing, and so all dupes are allowed

if instead you decided not to assume that just because something is a dupe it must be a dupe and accepted the possiblity of it being legit, then you would be able to make some kind of discernment between legit and dupe enough so that you could allow some items and disallow others

also this thread has not outlived itself, DK made it to try and reach some consensus as to how stickied threads and guides should be treated, not so we could run amok and then abandon it, I am hopeful that in talking to the admins he will be able to contribute more upon his return, but yes, I agree that in the meantime perhaps the thread is best left alone

I actually didn't realize that. His statements came off as very contradictory to mine, regardless of my stance. I don't want all items banned, just some. Lets see how he spins this one.. shall we?

I'm against using dupes, however there are items that are similar to dupes or are just "imperfect" variations of dupes, so stating poison damage charms (in contrast to 290s) or fine small charms perferably with life/fhr/ect(not that uncommon, just usually aren't 3/20/20 ) or something along those lines would be preferrable. If the creator of the guide uses dupes, that's his business, but he shouldn't say that everyone else should.

I wont give my position on such matters again because my arguements are just picked apart and not listened to. I don't play the game anymore. A massive dupe of bugged Godly Crowns of Uberness could happen tomarrow for all I care, it's just to complain about some items that have been duped so much that their abundance is more than the players on the realms is quite frankly a wasted one. You don't like seeing or hearing anything about duped, get off the realms and play SP. There is a even a nice forum with it. Or get your friends together and play some LAN games.

The realms have been and will always be tainted goods. If it was ever good once, it was duped. I rather liked my .08 valors and such, but did that stop me from making a legit 7K life char, no.

Let DK handle the mentioning of dupes in guides and stop complaining about something that you can never change.

Okay I got clarification.

If it can still drop, its "legal". If a guide advocates the use of dupes for like; every item though ...well lets discourage that.

Obviously no hacks / .09 / 0.08 stuff tho.

Well, okay heres the conclusion of this thread. It was only able to discuss one of the topics I was interested in but no matter for now.

Guides which advocate items which can still drop are allowed. Guides which offer items that cannot drop are not allowed. PM me if you see a guide which you think is going too far in terms of only pimping dupes, and I will check it out.

I will leave this stuck but locked for a couple of days, then post up a slightly different thread. Thanks for the input. One last sentiment which I can see, is that if you are currently writing a guide it will probably be more popular in this forum if it doesn't offer nothing but "suspicious" suggestions as item choices.
