no general discussion and this is on topic so I'll put this here.

WTF I am using my level 33 PJ/LF javazon and she can't kill Baal??? I check stats and she has a 56% chance to hit normal baal at 33????? I do almost 500 damage with the gear I have found (ladder SC no cheating or twinking) and I can't get a hit on him with the javs I have found. I can kill all the other stuff not even much trouble with big D oh well. I guess I suck big time not sure what I'm doing wrong, I have the skills maxed for my level, I guess I just suck. *sigh* that rant /off

next rant /on Maphack???? WTF why can't we use it? I don't care if it's been talked about 5 bazillion times Blizzard is lame for not letting this great program be used. I've played D2 since it's been out and if I have to keep looking for the GD portal to mephisto when I've leveled 35 different characters to 75+ I'm going to scream and throw the dam game out.

Come on, Maphack makes D2 more enjoyable for me and lots of others. It's not like it's a brand new game, not like blizzard is going to lose it's customer base of 8 bazillion people and maphack makes the game more fun for those who are tired of playing and having to look for the portals and stuff.

Baal is level 50 in normal if i recall correctly. In 1.10 AR penalties are even more severe if the monster is 5 or more levels above you. Considering you are level 33 you should not be surprised that you have a 56% chance to hit him. Try again when you are level 42 or something. You can easily achieve that level in normal baal runs or running worldstone keep level 2.

Edit - As for Maphack prepared to be flamed to hell and back. This game is a joke already in terms of difficulty even in 1.10. The last thing you need is to know EXACTLY where all the danger is with the exact boss mods so that you can conveniently avoid it. Why the hell even play the game? To mf and gather items to play a game that has it such a laughable state of difficulty because you use maphack? Turn off D2 and go do something easier if this game is too hard/tedious for you without Maphack.

Javazons have attacks which always hit. LF always hits IIRC, although I guess it might cost too much mana in order to be effective versus just a single monster. Did you consider spending a single point on GA plus prereqs and carry a bow in the switch ? If you have mana problems, wear a Manald heal or two. If you have life problems, wear a string of ears. If you have problems with Baal closing on you, consider using a valkyrie and/or decoy and keeping away from his breath. If you have a damage problem, consider using equipment stuffed with maxdam jewels - great for leveling ! Get a 3 socket crown/mask, 3 socket armor and a 3 socket shield and put L18 maxdam jewels into them. You could also put a skill point into guided arrow and prereqs and shoot him with a 6 socket battle/war bow (mine has 2 pskulls and 4 maxdam jewels, for example).

I don't care as well how many zillions of MH discussions we already had. IMO using MH is cheating, as it will give you an advantage over others, and Blizz should ban anybody who gets caught, period and end of discussion for me.

Generally speaking: according my expirience LF is preatty useless against act bosses - especially against Baal. I have never played a pure LF build though so I don´t know how it can work with maxed gear. Using GA lvl 1 and Kuko (Clvl Req: 33) you will kill him quickly - hybrids rules! :lol:

As said allready MH used on closed realms is a cheat because you get advantage over other players - duelling, mf-ing, gaining expirience, etc, etc. If you enjoy using it, you can do it entirely legit and honestly playing single player or open realms.

Thanks for the tips on where to exp also, I figured killing lister and his buddies for a few games might help me out. Been a long time since I actually leveled a character without twinking and without rushes. I like the ladder very much so I'll stay and "relearn" how to play. hehe :lol:

As for successfully avoiding monsters - WHO does that and why? Not the expeing guy, and not the mfer. Maybe the rusher, but he'll just tele. So plz prove this point to me.

What is the main advantage? Saving time. Now who doesn't want to save time? .. I won't get into this one any deeper.


Now... recall the days back in 1.09. EVERYONE had maphack. If it turned out someone doesn't have it, then everyone would basically laugh at him and call him noob for the rest of the game.
Now, if (almost) everyone has mh, then where is the extreme 'advantage' over other players? Who has advantage over whom? (the guy who doesnt use it of his own free will and decision does it to himself, ~dont include him when considering this...)

Hell yeah :yep: It's simply cheating, period. I don't what the arguments are, it's like krischan said. You get an unfair advantage and it ruins the game gradually.

On a nm baal run the other day and six of us decided to walk there, killing along the way. The quarters were pretty tight and we walked into a room with a conviction black soul boss standing beside a mighted cadaver boss.

It was the funniest thing iv'e ever seen. 5 lvl 65-75 characters being cut down within 2 seconds.

Good thing it wasn't hardcore.

You've been playing diablo 2 since it came out and you are having problems with normal difficulty? That's what, four years ago? Yeah, you just suck.

Ran into one of those packs just yesterday in NM diff. Full resists, 800+ HP, clvl 65, dead in 1.5 seconds. I figure if it was Hell diff, I wouldn't even know what happened. I'd be dead in a blink of an eye.

I've had clvl 91 Paladins with 1,400 HP, 95% LR, 20% PDR, and Lightning absorb go down to a conviction-enchanted Black Soul pack. It took three hits instead of one. Unfortuntely all three hits happened almost simulateously.

Dude, if u want to use MH... just do it. Since u have played 5 zillion times, even if u got banned u have got ur money's worth. No point ranting here... u r just gonna get flamed.

Well well who could possibly gain an advantage from avoiding danger, how about HARDCORE. Something like a black soul pack there or damage aura stygian doll pack there would likely wreck you before you could press save & exit, but with maphack you see their position and mods ten screens off and avoid them, even though your character should rightfully be dead by now.

Not everyone rushes (yes i know it surprised me too) but use maphack anyways to get around all sorts of dangers so that they can get to their "uber" leveling place.

As for your argument that "if everyone has it how can it be bad/an advantage?" I will simply say that you have been in baal running/cow running games for too long. There are other types of public games out there where there still exist many non maphacker players who have their game enjoyment ruined by AN IDIOT WHO COMES IN AND GETS TO THE BOSS IN A FEW SECONDS WITH MAPHACK. Some people actually like exploring a dungeon or taking their time, not rushing through the game in a few seconds.

Upon further checking the situation is even worse. Baal is level 60 ! in normal which is extremly high considering most monsters/bosses in act5 normal don't even hit mid 40's.

On the issue of map hack , i just dont understand why blizzard doesnt just do something to eliminate it from the game eternally, like incorpirate it into the game, like a have a charictor sell maps in each act, for like 50k, wouldnt that save us all the time waist arguing this damn un ending debate?

That's just kinda funny... the 'no cheating or twinking' comment followed directly by the 'why can't we use maphack' comment. ..

Maphack is a cheat! get over it .. who cares.. use it, know that there are others that don't like it .. respect that, shut up about your use of it... and move on.

I mean hey, If I found a way to get the winning lottery numbers a day ahead of time, and no worries of getting caught, I think I could make up my own mind about what to do, and I woulden't need approval from anyone on any message board to do so.. ... so when it comes to maphack, yes it's cheating, but do whatever you want.. :innocent: Just don't get caught, and if you do, please, please don't post your "boo hoo hoo, I got banned, I lost my characters etc etc." sob story here, cause no one cares!
