    My PS2 is finally dead

after two months of it being a complete pain in the butt, it was finally killed yesterday in a fit of rage... and a concrete floor.

what was it doing to be a pain you might ask? when ever we played a game it would freeze then the disk would "click" (i do not know how else to describe the sound) the only way to fix it was to pick up one end off the ground by and inch then drop it. Im sure that caused more damage than it fixed.

Anyways, yesterday afternoon, it got worse, but instead of fixing it, my brother unplugged all the cords, took out the memory card and the game, then threw it against the ground with all his might. see if by chance it still worked, he plugged in the power cord and a blue glow came from the vent.

Now im waiting for Spring break to be over so when a couple of kids outta school come by i can toss it out a window screaming obscenities. Plus i got to get a new one before they become illegal to buy...*sigh*

Anyways i just thought id share that with you...

Final Fantasy CXII - Last Fight of the PS2

You sure showed that PS2 who's boss!

As for me, I would have taken it in to where you purchased the thing for tech support but hey, that's just me.

Sony got sued over their duel shock system and copy rights. I don't know the details but its something like that.

    Meanwhile, *hugs his new ps2*

A pre-Gamecube Nintendo product would have survived that.

Anyway, I find the best thing to do with a video game/console that no longer works is to thrash it. Good choice.

It's not that it will be illegal to buy, it's that it will be illegal to sell. I think SOny is just going to pay off the suit though,a nd besides, it went to an atuomatic appeal, I believe, so that's like a nother year or year and a half before any injunction gets filed.

Hrm...methinks that little drops didn't help, but big one was teh killer one. My only question would be "why not fix instead of obliterate?"

And any pre-gamecube nintendo system is a cartridge, which is a bit more sturdy than the parts requried to read disks.

It's a shame the console has been destroyed... I probably could have told you how to fix this (I fixed a friend's system which showed the same symptoms).

Pity, oh well at least i have an excuse to buy an Xbox and a new *Slimmer* PS2. Well actually my brother will be replacing the PS2 and ill put in 50/50 for the Xbox.

I would buy a PSP, unfortunatly though, ive only seen it sold up here for $340 or more, i aint paying that much for a thing ill probably just use as an MP3 player.
