I was running hell cows for cow kings set items and hoping for some high end runes and imagine my surprise when a hydra bow dropped.. :flip:

now this is my first find worthy of posting a screenshot so far.. but the damn thing didnt come properly.. isnt shift+printscreen how we take screenshots.. :scratch: :rant:

hopefully by the time i find a sacred armour, i can get this sorted out.. for now :flip:

Nope, it´s printscreen only (if you haven´t changed it). Makes it easier to take a screenshot mid-battle...

Printscreen thing is already explained it seems...

But for Cow King set items hell cows are the worst option...as you can see, you will find only Windforces there

Cow King boots and armor are easiest to find from norm cows. NM cows have better chance to drop Cow King hat but norm cows can drop it too and they are faster to kill. I got Cow King hat and 3x armor from norm cows, still haven't got the boots :lol:

edit: have you tried to use the dropcalc built in ATMA 5.04c? Quite often I see people asking where they can find certain items, no one seem to use this excellent tool to find it out themselves

oh yeah.. i did use it.. but duh.. i searched the probability to find those items in hell and not across all difficulties.. :lady:

Your best bet for getting the armour and boots is from the Cow King in Normal. Killing the Cow King repeatedly is difficult without doing MP games, or using the modified d2gfx.dll to to run your own mini-MP game.

In 1.09 I've done hundreds and hundreds of cow runs (side effect of trying to get multiple 99 characters). I'm just another set of boots short of two full self-found sets. Not seeing anything after 20-25 runs is pretty normal.

Congrats on the bow though. Better than anything I've got in cows.

If you are running normal cows why not build a lightning trapper and using just LS traps you can kill cows with no effort what so ever. Tesladin works well for this also. You dont need to kill the cow king in fact its best not to, makes it really easy to keep opening the cow level in SP.

Is that just in 1.09, because I was under the impression in 1.10 that you can only visit the cows once whether or not you kill the cow king. Was I mistaken?

The catch with reentering the cow level is that you have to completely exit the game not just the character. It's a pain in the butt to do but, thats the only way to rerun cows repeatedly. I have ran normal cow with my trapsin using LS at /players 8 without needing to use one pot for life just pots for mana. Once you can get about 800 average damage cows are just icing for a LS one trap can kill off two groupings of cows. so you run around getting 6-10 groups of cows on your tail then lay down 3-5 traps and watch them all fall.

If you kill the king you are permanantly unable to open the level.
