My first Patriarch - Marcos the Werebear

Just finished my first Patriarch (I have a Meteorb Matriarch already), Marcos the Werebear. He was my first LoD character, probably my first NM viable character as well (I don't think Kudos the Pike weilding Necromancer made much of a dent in NM:grin: ) Marcos was a lot of fun eventually, altough in early hell difficulty he took a long break due to my lack of decent equipment. After many Meph runs with my Meteorb I was ready to outfit him properly and take up the challenge.

After that he Smashed his way through Hell difficulty with no problems until the Plains of Despair, where the Gloams repeatedly killed him, I think I'm just too stubborn to admit defeat and reroll the monsters. The rest of act 4 passed relatively uneventfully, although I was pleased to get an Ist at the Hellforge, my Meph runner will be happy to put that in the remaining socket on her Ali Baba:thumbsup: .

Act 5 was a breeze, until the WSK where I had all sorts of trouble with PI succubi, Iron Maiden OK's and once again, gloams. I seemed to be hit with Iron Maiden mid-swing repeatedly, and it was quite a frustrating day trying to get to Baal. Marcos made it eventually, and banished Baal with relative ease.

I had disregarded Shockwave until Hell difficulty, but when I finally invested in it I was amazed at how effective it is in controlling crowd. Just hit them with a Shockwave and Maul away along with Merc and Grizzly support.

The summons were boosted +4 thanks to offhand skills, while Shapeshifting was helped by the same +4 and a +3 amulet I switched in to shapeshift.

Congratz on the Pat! =D Gloams must have been bad, you have 0 Lit Reists after one death ahaha...

By the way, that's a wicked j00l you have there. =O

Congrats on the Pat! The first is always the best. Just curious. What did you do with PI's? Just avoid them?

The partial set bonuses for the IK Maul seemed adequate for most of them, my merc was using Arioc's needle as well for some poison damage.

Ah. Sorry, I usually play casters and have almost no experience with melee characters. Looks like I may have to try this type of druid. :thumbsup:
