My First Diablo Clone

Assassins rule !!

Just Killed my first Diablo Clone ... took 2 to 3 minutes and two rejuv potions (and one of them was for my merc). Just kicked him a few times and the Draculs aura kept me alive. Now I have a wonderful new charm.

Also killed Lilith yesterday, but far more difficult - died a lot and ran out of money trying to buy potions. But if anyone is looking for a Diablo Clone killer, you won't go wrong with a kicker.

Hammerdins and smiters can do it faster and with less expensive equipment, while smiters will drop the big 3 very quickly (although they will need better gear). It's just more original to do it with an assassin.

Just the thread I was hoping for! It is always nice hearing that non-pala's can do this too. Especially nice to see a 'sin taking them down, once I get the items[gl to me lol] I will give it a go too.

It's a little annoying though that one has to be filthy rich to be able to kill the uber-bosses.

It seems like Blizzard is encouraging people to cheat. I've heard people saying that DClone was meant to get rid of the duped SOJs but people ended up trying to dupe more so they'd spawn him. Now it's mainly the cheaters/botters/EBayers who have the gear to kill the big 3 and get yet another ridiculously overpowered charm.

I found DC by accident - I don't know if it even has anything to do with selling SOJs.

Most items can be traded, particularly runes - it just takes time and a little patience. Maybe items are duped, but you'll never really know, so you may as well trade for them. There is always someone trading runes - just look out for good deals and keep trading for better. Fortitude and Dream only require 1 high rune each ... I did find a JAH myself, but mostly just trade.

You can also make good items with low runes - Duress is very nice for a Kicker and only needs SHAEL UM THUL. The new Treachery rune word is also easy to make and has fantastic mods.

Sorry mate, but that's wrong. My zealot used to solo the big 3 using the following gear:
guillams, highlords, stormlash, chains of honor, hoz, dracs, 2 x raven, crappy verdungo and marrowwalks. I wouldnt call that overly expensive gear?
Gogo level 1 smite with lots of crushing blow
Besides, there are other ways to gain items than to cheat/bot and ebay you know?

Now, back to topic.
Congrats on that kill Mahric, ive been considering making a kicker for some time now. And i think i just decided to do so.

I got my anni with my kicksin too but she had less expensive gear and struggled with resists, though the mobs around caused more probs the Ubber Diablo in the end.

Heh, use a 4 socket armor with life socketed with 15 to all res jewels instead? and stack more res with charms?

@ the host, how did your shadow master fare? im wondering if its good to use it for dclone and uber trist, like did she tank well enough, or did you have to recast often?

Shadow Master (level29) was fine - I don't think she even got hit. I was in Act 1, but approached too quickly and when I went off to deal with a few Shamen, my Merc got swotted ... managed to save her with a rejuv potion and then went back to deal with DC myself.

Recently killed Uber Duriel - actually struggled more with the surrounding cretures than with Duriel. Poison seems to hurt despite max resist ... maybe need something to reduce the duration of the poison. Both merc and shadow survived.

Lilith was by far the most difficult - poison again. I kept dying and when I returned, she was back to almost full life. Died at least 10 times and went through about 20 full rejuvenation potions and all the healing I could afford - had no potions left when I killed her, and no money to buy more.

Not sure who's next, but looking forward to it ....

Well with someone your wealth, I'd be surprised if anyone had a trouble beating down DC unless you were a Sorc. DC's are much much mucho more fun than the Uber 3 because DC's rarer by far.
