My FFA WW Idea.

My FFA WW Idea.

NOTES TO HELP WITH MY IDEAS.

I like to duel in FFA games. I already do pretty well in FFA duels too.

I don't care for winning against Hammerdins, Smiters, Summoner Necromancers and Sorceresses that teleport a lot - though I can usually get them, too. I don't really care for Barbarian Vs. Barbarian duels either, kinda boring.

I don't usually like to switch around my items either, unless it's a 1v1, which hardly happens.

My idea for items.

Helmet: Crown of Ages. Ber/Ber.
Body: Enigma. Archon Plate.
Gloves: Dracul's Grasp.
Boots: Gore Riders... Tri-Resistance Boots?
Belt: Verdungos.
Weapon 1: Grief Berserker Axe.
Weapon 2: Beast Berserker Axe.
Weapon Switch 1: Doom Berserker Axe.
Weapon Switch 2: Doom Berserker Axe.
Ring 1: Ravenfrost. 20 Dexterity/High Attack Rating.
Ring 2: Ravenfrost. 20 Dexterity/High Attack Rating.
Amulet: Highlord's Wrath... any better ideas?

Other things: I have a Stormshield that I will sometimes use, and I plan to get a Widowmaker, maybe.

I was wondering if this is a good item layout.

NOT REALLY IMPORTANT.

This is what I currently use. It's fun, and good for FFA - Melee and Casters.

Helmet: Arreat's Face. 40 ED/15 IAS.
Body: Enigma. Archon Plate.
Gloves: Dracul's Grasp.
Boots: Gore Riders.
Belt: Verdungos.
Weapon 1: Ethereal Breath of the Dying Berserker Axe.
Weapon 2: Beast Berserker Axe.
Weapon Switch 1: Doom Berserker Axe.
Weapon Switch 2: Doom Berserker Axe.
Ring 1: Ravenfrost. 20 Dexterity/High Attack Rating.
Ring 2: Angelics Ring.
Amulet: Angelics Amulet.

I use my Ethereal Breath of the Dying and Beast against all, then switch to my two Dooms to fight Amazons and some other melee. Works real well. I cannot beat Zealers and Smiters too well. I think the COA will help.

So you're making a Blobs-style BvC...

Helmet: Crown of Ages. Ber/Ber.
Body: Enigma. Archon Plate.
Gloves: Dracul's Grasp.
Boots: Gore Riders... Tri-Resistance Boots?
Belt: Verdungos.
Weapon 1: Grief Berserker Axe.
Weapon 2: Beast Berserker Axe.
Weapon Switch 1: Doom Berserker Axe.
Weapon Switch 2: Doom Berserker Axe.
Ring 1: Ravenfrost. 20 Dexterity/High Attack Rating.
Ring 2: Ravenfrost. 20 Dexterity/High Attack Rating.
Amulet: Highlord's Wrath... any better ideas?
If you do not wish to switch around your items, I suggest you rather use Arachnid's Mesh and Trang-Oul's Claws. Allows 40% FCR, and from your CoA and Enigma you should already have all the DR you need.

Also, for FFA, you should use triple resistance boots, as there are always sorcs or fohers or trappers or javazons in all games. Except BvB ones.

I use my Ethereal Breath of the Dying and Beast against all, then switch to my two Dooms to fight Amazons and some other melee. Works real well. I cannot beat Zealers and Smiters too well. I think the COA will help.
CoA will give more room for error, but the truth lies deep within yourself (a phrase from a game, I think). If you can whirl close to perfectly or perfectly, you do not necessarily even need DR versus Smiters.

Well, the things you need to achieve: high resistances (VERY high lightning stack if you wish to duel fohers without switching gear), 40% FCR, high mana, high DR%, high life, 48% FHR, decent damage.

I do not know if you've seen that little part of my guide that talks about charms, so I will post the "FFA" setup here.

My own version of the Classic setup:
12* ar/life small charms
11* max/ar/life small charms
5* life/resistance small charms
5* life/mana small charms
Annihilus
Hellfire Torch

This setup might look quite ugly at first look. It loses "lots" of damage and "lots" of AR for "little" resistances and mana. However, it's actually like the ugly duckling that ended up being a beatiful swan. The setup will give you high enough mana to play with your pubsetup versus any opponents (again, ~700 mana). But also, it will give you a bit of all resistances or lots to a single resistance. This is THE setup for dueling versus fohers or T/Vs or V/Ts, as it will allow you to have, for example, +110% to lightning resistance from the 10 SCs alone. Now if you got 4x fhr/11% lightning resistance scs, you will end up with a whopping +154% Lightning resistance. This will help your stacking by quite a lot. Also, in public games, this setup will make sure that you will not depend on the Anya quests for your resistances. Also, it will add approximately the same amount of AR as the Classical setup will. The only downside is the loss of a little bit of damage. To be honest, the amount of lost damage is ~72, which means nothing until you hit multiple times. This might be new to some people and old to some people. However, I've never seen people suggest this setup, so I will present it. I haven't had the time to experiment this setup on Open, but it should and most likely will work just as fine or even better than the other setups.
Read the whole thing and give it some though.

Yeah, my plan was to get at least a lot of FHR and AR charms.

Some things I will swap are:
Arachnid Mesh/Verdungo's
Beast/Stormshield

Ce Olba, you've always helped in my Barbarian threads.

Along with what I listed, the only things I want clarification on are:
Double Ravenfrosts, and Highlord's Wrath. Are those the best choices?

Overall yes, as with anything else, you will need to add lots of points to desterity and you will lack safety from cold damage.

Oh and one more thing, I have an Archon Plate Enigma, is there a better choice even if I don't mind paying costs to repair.

EDIT : How many SOJs are the tri-resistance boots. Name if you are non-ladder or ladder and tell how much they go for. Or, if you know both. That'd be good.

To answer your boot question...

I payed 3 SOJs for mine, stats were...

10FHR/+15AR/~35LR,FR,CR

So anywhere from 3-whatever the dupes are worth.
