my 'Bob" thread

well, as the name suggest, i share the same faith as ULTIMATER. my hd finally gave up on me. it's been bugging me for quite some time now, and finally it fails. unfortunately, i lost more than just d2 stuff. :( so i can't afford a smiley. the hd motor refuses to spin anymore. there was wf, gf and some other uber stuff in there. :rant:

i managed to contact a friend and he has a spare disk i can buy, so i think i can give it a new start. although it will take sometime as i don't even have a windows to run right now. so i guess i'll have to rest from d2. also from any other games as i'm running linux on my secondary disk .

so that's my 'Bob' thread. :buddies: :flip:

Sorry to hear that, pesot. :( If you like, once you get D2 re-installed, I can give you some normal and exceptional items to get you started again. Just let me know.

I lost more stuff to, but it can be replaced . . .

And it seems like we got a new thing going here, with the "Bob" threads :lol:

for my case, some stuff can't be replaced. thanks god i got a backup of my thesis. anyways, what char will you be starting with? i'm thinking about a thrower. always wanted a thrower.

to prevent this I do a backup up my chars which i host on a private ftp server.. therefore i would never lose much in case of a crash :)

sorry to hear tho, i could probably throw in some items if u need.

sorry to hear about your loss. id also recommend a fishy to begin with as he is safe and a good MFer so you can start regaining your items you lost.

it's a 'page fault simulator'. virtual memory stuff. i've already graduated actually. but, it still hold some kind of value. (like the hours you spent trying to finish it). of course, i spent more hours on d2 :lol:

Ouch that gotta hurts. But if you know it's gonna fail, why didn't you drop your stash and chars at least onto a disk?

how do you configure the kernel to do that? are you running some kind of emulator? if so, where do i get it?

@NSXdreamer : well, i was gonna drop it to the secondary drive, but i expect it to go a little futher until i get a replacement. shows how much i know :lol:
