"Many moods of playing" by ULTIMATER

If i want to do fast runs, i listen to some aggresive psytrance or ravemusic or something fast.

If i want to do MANY runs, i put all my Mp3 on the playlist and just let it flow.

If i want to play good, never die and such, metal/punk is the key.

If i want to just play, Vangelis, Enya etc works perfect.

    :)

There are two factors you can use to determine what would be good background music:

    Character/Playstyle and Act.

    Act-wise my list would be:

Act 1: Anything british. Folk, modern rock, trip hop, anything. It just have to have that rainy british vibe.

Act 1 Cloister and Catacombs: Anything suitably "gothic". Genitorturers (an industrial porn-rock band) would be the obvious choice.

Act 2: I've found this a hard one. Middle-eastern folk music seems a good choice, but I have also found that moody soft goth-rock works well.

Act 2 Arcane Sanctuary: Here you need something a bit adventurous and weird. It has to have a quite "airy" sound to get the setting right. My fave right at the moment is Björk, but that might change.

Act 3: The cheesy choice would be peruvian folk music, but anything with a soft deep vibe would be good. The best would be ripped music files from Shadow of the Beast and Shadow of the Beast 2.

Act 4: I have found that the best choice here is Jean Michel Jarre's Chronologie. Anything else is inferior. To those who only know Jean Michel Jarre for Oxygene and Equinoxe, Chronologie has a more bombastic and "dark" sound that fits perfectly to the vast nightmarish hell landscapes.

Act 5: My personal favourite is a Tuvan folk/rock band called Yat Kha. To those who don't know where Tuva lies it lies at the northern border of Mongolia.

Act 5 ice caves: I have always found the ice caverns kind of dreamy and fairy-tale'ish. Therefore I prefer more quirky music here. My favourite being Pram's North Pole Radio Station.

Act 5 Worldstone Keep: I am unsure of this one. The area really calls for something huge and heroic, but also something a bit "aggro". Metal of the symphonic or gothic kind might go well. Heroic film soundtracks might also fit the bill.

    Character-wise my list would be:

Amazon: My least favourite class for some reason and as such I have not made many thoughts about this unfortunately.

Assassin: If you play a MA Assassin you want to hear something fast and furious. Galloping punk rock, frantic thrash/speed/glam metal. Something to keep the adrenaline going as you torture your skill hotkeys.

Barbarian: I think you want to hear something heavy and nasty with this one. He is a big bruiser. You need to keep the adrenaline up, but not necessarily as frantic as the assassin. Good midrange heavy metal with focus on "heavy" or attitude-rich hip-hop might fit the deal. A really nasty folk groove might also do the trick.

Druid: I would think something back-to-earth folk would do well here. Something from Scandinavia or the old celtic parts of Europe. Stuff like Hedningarna really works well here.

Necromancer: Unlike the other classes you don't want something fast and furious here. The necromancer play stile is much more "cool, calm and collected". You want something soft and slow, but also moody and dark. Really slow Doom-metal or goth (none of that dancey darkwave stuff) can really work out. Jazz would also be good if you could find something adequately "ominous".

Paladin: I just think really evil black metal works well here. Yeah anything with plenty of the Devil, damnation, salvation and the Doomsday. Nothing like zealing through a pack of Zarakumites while hearing Satyricon's Prime Evil Rennaissance ("He would kill the white-draped man, he would kill all holy men...").

Sorceress: You want something with some "pang" here. I think metal is simply too out of character. It really needs to be something "pop" or otherwise something "Enya'ish" fantasy-like. Techno or trance can be good if you can find something suitably fairy-tale'ish. Big heroic "film-music is a bit out of character". Cheeky anime soundtracks are much better.

Since I'm playing BF: Vietnam and can't find myself a stupid copy of UT2k4, I don't listen to music when I play BF:V. I tend to play less good I've noticed with music on. :uhhuh: It interferes with my killing and cappings skills.

I usually just open up winamp, put it on random and let it play, so when I'm playng I'm either listening to A Perfect Circle, Alice in Chains, Killswitch Engage, Korn (yes Korn), Metallica, Mudvayne, Rage Against the Machine, Incubus, Sevendust, Staind, Static-X, System of a Down and Tool.

I have a buttload of remixed music from Overclocked Remix, so my winamp playlist (set to random) spits out all kinds of stuff while I'm playing, from Final Fantasy, to Silent Hill, to Sonic the Hedgehog. It gets weird at times, but most of the time it's just fun.

    Great band.

Since I don't really play D2 anymore, don't have any music I listen too. But to this day, Act 1 always reminds me of Godsmack Awake CD.

All of your songs are inferior D2 music. The badger song is the only way to go. I'm not sure how many of you have heard of the badger song but if you haven't go to www.badgerbadgerbadger.com
