Right now I have a nords (not a very good one either... I think it's +2 freezes target, 9% cold absorb, 290 ED) and I was looking at Lightsabre. It has less damage which I know multiplies greatly when transfered over 3 elements - but it's faster, has ignore target defense, and 25% lightning absorb (and we all know how obsessed I am with resists)

So my question is not really "which is better?" but if Lightsabre is worth giving a shot.

Ultimately, I think I would love to have an Azurewrath... but I've never seen one up for trade and I'm running out of stuff. What's Templars Might worth these days on ladder? I'll never get my str up high enough to wear it... might as well get something I can use.

Assumptions:

Lvl 20 Vengence
Lvl 20 Resist Fire
Lvl 20 Resist Cold
Lvl 20 Resist Lightning
No external IAS
Average ED% on both weapons


Nord's Tenderizer = 5008 Damage Per Second
Lightsabre = 3935 Damage Per Second

Maybe if you had a rock bottom Nord's vs perfect ED Lightsabre it would be closer, but as far as average versions of each weapons go then Nord's > Lightsabre...

shouldnt you factor in the ITD=more chance to hit?

also, the 1 with more physical damage (im not sure which) would help in leech...
nords is a mace class? then it has % physical to demons or undead right?

I don't have that spreadsheet at home (It's at work), but I believe Azurewrath is up around 5800 or 5900 damage per second, mostly because of the massave cold and magic damage it adds to your attack.

Given my conditions listed above, Azurewrath is by far the best UNIQUE Avenger weapon in terms of damage per second. However, it is not the best choice as far as leech is concerned since the physical aspect is quite low compared to a weapon such as Rune Master (which is all physical).

I emphasized Unique because I have not started looking at Runewords yet. Also, I have NOT looked at Gimmershred yet, but I will eventually. Somehow missed the "throwing" weapons class when I was gathering data...

Yeah, go with Nords lik BWD said. I <3 my Nord's freeze target.

Also, I think Glimmershred is gonna suck. Cause it needs 70IAS to hit 11 frames and 105IAS to hit 10. The weapon gives 30. Sure, it adds tons of elemental dmg but I dunno, it looks slow =/

My dream weapon is a Beast Cadeucus or Zerker Axe ;] <3 fanta.

i think an avenger should use lacerator...then its nasty -150% elemental and -100% phyiscal resists the enemies get, then you can leech etc
