Movie thread

so I finally got netflix and my queue is at a paltry 90 right now, so here's the chance to discuss your favorite movies while I take notes in the background

I've already responded to some of your past recommendations (I've got Return of the Living Dead on the list) but I know you guys are fountains of opinion just waiting for an excuse to spew, so if you're gonna spew, spew into this... thread

omega man rocks, but I have also seen it a bazillion times, that's one I should probably buy one of these days

and I forgot about 28 days later, I only saw the first half and need to finish watching it

You've never gotten bored with a movie half-way then turned it off and switched to something else which also got you bored half-way so you turned back to the first one? Eh, happens to me all the time.

Kin-Dza-Dza (cleverly weird low-budget Russian science fiction)
Spirited Away

Versus was a fun movie. You could also get Tourist Trap..what a cheesy 80's horror flick.
would be a nice contrast to the many cheesy 70's horror flicks I've got on the list

I'll put in a third vote for Once upon a Time in America, but it has to be the directors cut. The original American release is terrible which is why this movie isn't better known.

Once Upon a Time in The West. Another Leone film dealing with the end of an era. It goes together with the other one.

Leaving Las Vegas - go out and get incredibly drunk and ensure you will have a massive hangover the next morning. Watch Leaving Las Vegas during said hangover... Then watch it again a few days later to appreciate just how damn good this film is.

Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid - Young Guns II was a remake of this early 70's film. As in most cases, the original is much, much better.

The Proposition...

Captain Stanley: Now, suppose I told you there was a way to save your little brother Mikey from the noose. Suppose I gave you a horse and a gun. Suppose, Mr. Burns, I was to give both you and your young brother Mikey, here, a pardon. Suppose I said that I could give you the chance to expunge the guilt beneath which you so clearly labour. Suppose I gave you till Christmas. Now, suppose you tell me what it is I want from you.

Charlie Burns: You want me to kill me brother.

Captain Stanley: I want you to kill your brother simply a superb film.

Spun seems to be one of those films that everyone missed for no good reason (it might have had something to do with the naked woman tied to a bed the whole time...).

I could add more but have things to do.

i just popped falling down out of the dvd player...another movie that i watched countless's one of those movies that you will either love or hate.

/end spew.

Diabloii.Net Member would help out if you said what types of movies you like.

High Tension..or Haute Tension depending on where you are. Very good movie.
Ichi the Killer is fun.
Last House on the Left is one of the most disturbing movies I have seen. It is very similar to I Spit on your Grave..but perhaps a bit more me at least.

The Changeling is a very good ghost movie

Quite a few movies I want to see are not available on netflix.
